So we did ended up doing the Diamond Brite (perl) finish. Turned out beautiful. But it is most definitely a much more abrasive finish then then just the regular plaster. Overall, we're very happy with the finish.

well that's my fear as you really don't want any water potentially getting behind the tile and the water in most definitely splashing in there with those unfilled gaps... we've been swimming since early July and no problems so far, but I wouldn't really expect any immediate issues, my concerns...

On heater vs the auto cover.... I would say the two don't have to be mutually exclusive, heater can still be a nice complement, but I'm at amazement on how awesome the auto cover is with keeping the warm temps and heating up the pool in cool sunny days. We've had a crazy cold August so far here...

Deck and the wall are being finished up today, looking good! Next week auto cover and hopefully landscaping and then the following week fence. Almost there... continuing Taking pics for everything, Will definitely post up soon.

Thank you for the answer and the tips. The pH finally down to 7.2 yesterday, all together took 4 gallons of acid. I know with the plaster curing the pH will be rising all season, but at least with it now being down to the manageable levels it will be easy to figure out how acid at add with acid...

Love your thread! Such a beautiful work and attention to detail. I have one question. How long did it take for the pH levels to drop and how much muriatic acid you ended up using up after the initial water fill? It's been 5 days for me now and the pH levels are still off the charts, been luring...
