Need an advise from those with auto cover

Thanks. I spoke with the builder again as well as the company who installed the cover and they're both swearing that this is not an issue and the space between the tile and rail always left like this and not causing issues because the gaps are just too small for to much water to get in... i'm...

    Diamondbrite vs regular plaster

So we did ended up doing the Diamond Brite (perl) finish. Turned out beautiful. But it is most definitely a much more abrasive finish then then just the regular plaster. Overall, we're very happy with the finish.

Need an advise from those with auto cover

well that's my fear as you really don't want any water potentially getting behind the tile and the water in most definitely splashing in there with those unfilled gaps... we've been swimming since early July and no problems so far, but I wouldn't really expect any immediate issues, my concerns...

Need an advise from those with auto cover

Hi All, So when my auto cover track was installed and subsequently everything else finished, plaster, grout, etc, one thing thing that was not done, it the line where the track sits on top of the tile is not 100% flush with the tile and has some spacing in some areas as it was never grouted or...

    Pool Build - Baltimore

I can 100% agree. Not too big on swimming when it's too cool outside, but just the point that with the cover you still Have that options without the heater is very nice, so all I was told before about the auto cover extending the swimming season is def. true. Bottom line heater not needed if...

    Pool Build - Baltimore

On heater vs the auto cover.... I would say the two don't have to be mutually exclusive, heater can still be a nice complement, but I'm at amazement on how awesome the auto cover is with keeping the warm temps and heating up the pool in cool sunny days. We've had a crazy cold August so far here...

Two weeks wait to swim after fill or wait more?

My builder told me two weeks after fill which will be in two days. Though I'm still a bit concerned as I'm reading some info suggesting a full 4 week wait. We did a normal start up with only sequestering agent being added. The chemistry is now in good order, pH still goes up everyday but I'm...

    Pool Build - Baltimore

Thank you for the answer and the tips. The pH finally down to 7.2 yesterday, all together took 4 gallons of acid. I know with the plaster curing the pH will be rising all season, but at least with it now being down to the manageable levels it will be easy to figure out how acid at add with acid...

    Pool Build - Baltimore

Love your thread! Such a beautiful work and attention to detail. I have one question. How long did it take for the pH levels to drop and how much muriatic acid you ended up using up after the initial water fill? It's been 5 days for me now and the pH levels are still off the charts, been luring...

Thank you all for the good words, doing the sunroom and pation was definitely worth the $$$ and seen much use of the years. On the heating... having the cover is also a reason i'm not doing the heater this year, want to see how it goes. So far (since Saturday's water fill) and with no cover...

My backyard 2.0 - another Baltimore pool build.

Hi Alan, We're in Owings Mills! Used to live in the city in early 90's but been out in suburbs for many years now. In the mean time, a little about backyard 1.0:) When we bought our house 10 years ago, we were "lucky" to have your typical, basic back yard setup. A deck and a whole lot of grass...

Folks, thank you very much for all the reposnces. Its settled, i will go with Aqualink RS touch system, already told the builder to order it. Also, the builder forwarded my questions to his Zodiac rep to make sure all are answered correctly, so here are the reposnces for those who may need this...

    Jandy aqualink.

Hi all, I'm a bit torn an what to do here, so some feedback and recommendations would be much appreciated. We initially decided on Jandy aqualink PDA, but now I'm a bit torn maybe getting the I-aqualink model. The builder is telling me either system is nice (I-aqualink will be more expensive)...
