How Do I Find A PebbleTec Plaster Expert?

The plaster was 10 seasons old. In pristine condition. PebbleTec is a 20+ year product. Hence, all these doomsday arguments are null & void.

How Do I Find A PebbleTec Plaster Expert?

Hi. Welcome. Pebble Tec should last 20+ years. You will hear many in the know say it could well outlast us. Some folks chime in who know nothing, they merely think they do. It is very risky, and not advisable to acid wash PebbleTec. I spoke to PebbleTec the other day, they strongly advise...

How Do I Find A PebbleTec Plaster Expert?

I had no idea there were rules against caps. It was done innocently. I will delete the post. Thanks.

How Do I Find A PebbleTec Plaster Expert?

You have no idea what you're talking about. My plaster was 11 years old at the time. It was perfectly intact. Not a thing wrong. This service was offered as a means to "freshen up" the plaster. You are the only one with this grossly uninformed position. And I will not lay out my legal argument...

How Do I Find A PebbleTec Plaster Expert?

Hi Jim, Oh I'll get the money alright. I know this guy...he does not want his property seized. And I will do that if he tries anything. The issue is that my pool guy suggested an acid wash 6 years ago. I have since learned that acid washing pebble tec plaster is contraindicated, and that even...

    Acid wash on pebble finish

Looks like my plaster. Ruined by an unnecessary acid wash. 6 years and getting worse every year.

How Do I Find A PebbleTec Plaster Expert?

Hi all. I need an expert witness for a lawsuit against my former pool guy who destroyed my plaster with acid wash. I DREAD this. Like reallllly dread this. But this is what the courts do to us. They threaten that if we don't have experts, we'll lose. I don't agree, my case is not that...

I guess we can agree to disagree. It was a headline...hardly shouting, def not dramatic for drama sake. Had I posted entirely in caps? I suppose you'd have a point. I've had folks tell me that they can't see very well which is why they use caps...ok, who am I to say

It's been 19 years...never a problem. I do not have time to mess with water chemistry. I have a huge property to maintain, a home to maintain, and EVERYTHING that goes with it and beyond. I'm a one person show. I don't stop. I have to choose what needs my attention most.

Test kits? I know the lectures will pour in, but I don't do test kits unless I have an issue. So please, no lectures, peeps! :p My water is always spectacular. Only once in 19 years did I have an issue a few years back. Dastardly nitrates. Took a while to get under control. I still have all the...

returns not flowing no longer an issue

I could hear the water running thru the heater. The pool heater was on the day before I realized the return situation. 12 hours. Got about 1 degree an hour. As per usual. The pool had been open since mid May. Was clean as a whistle. Believe me, I was perplexed beyond. Still am. Could it have...

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: It's all good. I was poking back. So...what happened was I closed the return valve when closing the pool in the fall. I have NEVER closed it before. It's a valve I don't touch because I don't need to. Why I did that? It's anyone's guess. I admit I get distracted...

Thank you, Dirk. Our suspicions were correct. Turns out, I'm a big dummy. I said it was going to be something stupid, right in front of my eyes. And I'm so glad about that. Better to be a dummy and have an oops than have to pay for costly repairs. Amen. Will be polishing up my bio. I guess I...

Is Acid Washing Recommended For Pebble Plaster?

Pretty much as I figured based upon my research. I have read that the plaster must be on its last leg before resorting to acid, that there are other, less aggressive means for stain removal, AND to NEVER use acid for maintenance.

Is Acid Washing Recommended For Pebble Plaster?

Thank you for your input! I was told that once the acid is applied, it "resides" in the plaster, slowly eroding it away. Not only will pebbles fall off, but the plaster will eventually, too. Even when done properly, it is contraindicated for pebble. I gather it is a very delicate process that...

Is Acid Washing Recommended For Pebble Plaster?

Hi all, I am here to gather a consensus of opinions from the veteran pool guys of TFP. Acid wash pebble plaster? Is it recommended for routine maintenance? Do you have any personal experiences to share?

    Pebbletec Deteriorating

The pebbles were falling off in droves since right after the acid wash. Never before then. The wash was in 2017. My plaster was 11 years old at the time. I have 6 years to litigate. If that is all he's got? The time defense? He's toast. Like I said, this is not my first rodeo. I have a LITANY of...

    Pebbletec Deteriorating

I am no stranger to litigation. Been there, done that a number of times. All levels of judiciary. It's always a crapshoot because judges are...well...people. Bias is the greatest obstacle. I settled on a few occasions, but typically I go the distance...and come out the victor. This will be no...

    Pebbletec Deteriorating

It was around 11 years old at the time. It was in perfect condition but for that little poorly troweled patch I mentioned. But that was just sloppy troweling. Like I said, if the pool guy thought it was too old or not fit for the process due to defects, he should not have done it. There is no...

Ahhh...ok. Now I see. This gets confusing. lol So you went thru the same ordeal. I'm sorry you did. It is awful. It ruins not just the aesthetic but the integrity of the pool.

    Pebbletec Deteriorating

Thank you for that helpful feedback! I am going to be taking him to court. I have one year left to do so. 6 years in NJ for structural. I prayed he would man up and do the right thing. He always did right by me before then. In fact, he was really good to me. But you are right. He was listening...

Boom. This is what he said. I am going to file suit against him (I am no stranger to litigation, btw). But this is not my forte. He really doesn't have a leg to stand on...or swim with...but I need to educate myself best I can. It is CLEAR that the acid wash ruined the plaster. At first, we saw...
