First time testing my pool - Advice welcome

I've read the ABCs. Water quality looks good. I guess right now my problem is figuring out how to calculate how much bleach to add and determining if my CYA in the ball park.

Hey y'all, I tested my pool for the first time this morning. Here are the facts I think you might need. Size: 18,000-18,500 gallons is my best guess Gunite, in ground with hot tub (my pool build...

Thanks Nursenini! We are really enjoying it even though we don't have the kitchen/patio finished. The water is a bit cold but I can't heat it until 23 days after plaster according to the PB. Eek! Not sure we can wait that long. I will post more pictures soon when the patio and everything gets...

He added a bunch of acid yesterday and it drove the pH down to 7.0. I'm not adding anything until I have been totally cleared by him. I have TF-100 with Speed Stir so that I can become a mad scientist. But it's my first pool so there is a learning curve. Has anyone ever compiled all of the Pool...

New Pool Build - League City, TX - Help and opinions welcome

So yesterday I texted the PB and asked when we can swim. He said if the pH is 7.0-7.4 then we could swim tomorrow (Sunday). I just tested it 7.0 pH. Well I'm leaving on 3 day trip tomorrow morning before sunrise. Do you think it'd be okay to let the kids go a day early?

So after a passenger with a heart attack caused me to do an emergency divert, I am now getting home later this evening (passenger ended up doing fine). But my daughter was nice enough to text me the first pics of the deck and the pool filled.

Lol. I was afraid two hoses would be too heavy for my little water bottle. I'm off to work now and my wife and kids leave for school in 2 hours. Pool has about a foot to go which I think will take about 4 hours. I hope the deck guys turn the water off for us while we aren't there. [emoji16]

Oh man, now you've done it. I'm so hungry for those ribs and brisket now. I think the egg is going to get fired up a week from today. They have taken it out of it's nest to redo the granite underneath. But man that some good looking food right there. I need to go watch those links you posted...

Thanks, Amanda. It just keeps getting lighter and lighter as it dries. They still aren't here to acid wash. Yours still looks darker to my eye. I guess we'll see. What recourse does a person have once they finish if the color doesn't look right?

Kim, I'm here all day tomorrow to make sure they fix the blue spots. I'm all over it!!! Hey what's the trick with the hoses during fill? Someone taped a plastic bottle to the hose? Sock or something?

Amanda, I wanted the shells and asked about them. PB wanted $800 to do it. I laughed and told him no thanks. I tried sweet talking plaster guy on the side to do it for cash but he said that we had to go thru the PB. Soooo no shells. [emoji22] But I think it'll still look good.

Twinkles--it looks bad here because they need to come power wash and acid wash tomorrow but this is flagstone at the top of the beach entry. The waterline is going to be halfway up the flagstone. The plaster will always be under water.
