Liner leak in inground just after closing

Here are a couple shots of snow melting on top of the sheet of ice. Not sure what to make of it. I think it is probably not a clue about where my leak is. My leak rate is slowed to ~1/8 inch per day.

Liner leak in inground just after closing

Thanks for your quick thoughts on this. We had a diver out and just to be sure we plugged the drain line. I added antifreeze to that line afterward. All other penetrations are above the waterline, except the pool light fixture and the gasketing for the stairs. I suspected the fixture since...

Liner leak in inground just after closing

Our pool started leaking when we put the winter cover on. It has the Pacific Pools construction with vinyl liner, polymer walls and "K brackets" supporting the walls, and a sand bottom. Too much space between liner and wall?

Thanks very much. (I thought I had uploaded two pictures.) The wall is set back from where the liner will insert by about ½ inch. I will wait for a warm day and bring out a pot of warm water with me.

    Cleaning pool cover

If the weather is cooperating, you can spray it while still on the pool. You'll have to coordinate it with removing the safety cover and draining. I get the majority of the cover clean this way and, this year, I did not have to do a second cleaning after I got it off. My grass appreciated that!

Too much space between liner and wall?

I mistakenly filled my pool before pulling the winter cover off. When I pulled the cover off I found the liner had pulled away from the coping over a good 18" stretch. I expect I have to drain the pool, pour hot water on the liner, and try to work it back. Boiling hot water by itself doesn't...

    Sagging gate...

Is the post perpendicular to the ground? It would not take much shifting of the post to cause an interference. Is the gate parallel to the post? If not, that may indicate the hinge is at fault. A first step, if possible, would be to be sure about what moved. I'm not familiar with the hinge...
