Storing Chemicals in (hot) North Texas

As a new pool owner, I'm just wondering where people store their pool chemicals (location, keep this away from this, etc.). Since I live in North Texas, I know the temperature will soon get very hot. Thanks,

    Purchasing chemicals, where?

Thanks, now for the big question. My pool was filled over last weekend and my PB guy came out on Monday afternoon and added some chemicals (not sure all what he added) and put us through pool school. Thus, last night (Wed) I tested the water. I had 0 chlorine and the Ph was low. I texted the...

    Purchasing chemicals, where?

As a brand new pool owner (pool just got filled on Monday), I am wondering where people purchase their supplies. If you can tell me where and what brand you buy for the following, I would appreciate it: 6% bleach. borax. baking soda. calcium chloride dihydrate. stabilizer. Thanks,

New build in North of Dallas about to start, any help is appreciated

We are looking to go with whatever is easiest and the least expensive. As it is behind the rocks and anywhere from 6 - 12" or so, not much will be seen unless it goes over the rock. Our thought was to put down a metal edging about 2' behind the rock and slowly start to landscape it. I'm not...

Oklahoma Flagstone Coping concern and ?

We have Oklahoma flagstone coping around our new pool build. (see pic below) I have heard that it can "flake" off. If anyone has OK flagstone, experience with it, etc., would you recommend sealing it prior to plastering? If yes, what did you use/recommend? Thanks,

    Plaster vs Pebbletec vs...?

I would suggest a quartz finish. It lasts much longer than the white plaster and it is very soft on the feet. For price, it is usually in between plain plaster and a pebble tec/sheen.

Travertine deck to come see in DFW?

Alan, We chose pavers for our decking. Here is a link to our construction. The third page, at the bottom, has a few pics of our deck. http://www.troublefreepool.com/threads/87537-New-build-in-North-of-Dallas-about-to-start-any-help-is-appreciated/page3 We chose Belgard for a couple of...

    Edge of Paver decking concern

Pretty sure they did not use rebar-reinforced concrete surrounding any edge. If you look close at the edge of the paver, you can see where they put some form of cement/mortor. I guess I will need to put in some sort of drainage pipe and then cover it with dirt prior to topping it off with...

    Edge of Paver decking concern

Ok, they have finished the paver deck for my pool build. Now, I am at a loss as to what to do. The home builder built the back yard so rain would run down the middle of the backyard out to the sides of the house. Thus, there is a little bit of a drop off in the yard as you move from the...

Close up of the spa stone work: This is what we call "the cave" hiding the skimmer: control panel and equip: from the deep end: to show the 6.5' deep end: now the other side of the house gets dug up for the gas line: last photo prior to the deck coming in:

Updated pictures coming soon. Anyone have a picture of a "pop-up" drain that comes up from underneath their decking? My PB contractor put in the drains with 2 openings, but just left the PVC pipe open at the end of the decking. I talked with my supervisor and he said, "there should be a pop...

Anyone know how they handle gutters that currently fall into what will be the new deck? If you look at the pics above, you can see the gutter coming down the brick column. That area, and 1 other gutter, will now be decking. Just wondering what will happen with this when it rains.

    Paver decking dilemma

I wasn't overly impressed with any of the choices for pavers, so I put the decision on the wife (just in case we don't like it). We went with the Belgard, Dublin Cobble, in Harvest Blend: http://www.belgard.com/products/pavers/dublin_cobble

Yes, there is a bench below it and just to the right of that "bump in". The schematic shows more as a curve in, but it appears the person doing the coping made it more of move in. I will see if they can smooth it out a little so it's not at jagged. Good eye as I didn't notice that yesterday.

    Paver decking dilemma

If anyone has any pictures of a pool with paver decking, I'd love to see them. We now have our coping and are trying to decide what type and color of pavers to use. Here is a picture of the pool with the coping. The deck will be on the left side of this picture from behind the spa to about...
