New Build Southern California

I agree that you should upgrade to the ET8. You will also want more lighting in the pool and possibly even on your sun shelf. I would also see about adding a couple of deck jets. I added two to mine that were pretty inexpensive and now that I have had it for 8 months, I would have liked to have...

IntelliFlo <> EasyTouch issue - The Return!

Re: IntelliFlo <> EasyTouch issue - The Return! Mine always so there are no delays too but when I hit the Cancel All Delays button, the pump starts right up. Good luck!

    Just fired the pool guy

With the heat we have here in the valley, I would suggest a daily dose of Liquid Chlorine/Bleach. At least until your test kit arrives.

IntelliFlo <> EasyTouch issue - The Return!

IntelliFlo <> EasyTouch issue - The Return! My first thought was to check any delays that are set in your SL. I have run into the same issue you are referencing and when I go in and cancel all delays, the pump fires right up.

    Eye-balling the chlorine

Same as above. I test as precisely as possible and then count as I pour chems. I used to tend bar and poured all my drinks by counting. I figure most of the time it doesn’t hurt to be heavy handed with booze or chlorine...

    What's your current pool temp?

We are at about 85* and it feels fantastic when it is 103* outside..:

    Filter and SWCG Schedule Advice

I would double check the rpm level that triggers your low-flow indicator. 1200 seems low to me with a heater. I have an IC40 and don’t go below 1600 for my setup. It turns green at 1450 but I keep it at 1600 just to make sure it doesn’t drop below and trigger the low-flow indicator.

I am having a hard time...

I feel your pain. I hav been called a little OCD at times as well. The good news is, if that is the only thing that really weighs on you, you are in great shape!

Pricing out new pool... SWG questions...

The pool we just had built is only a few months old so only added salt 30 days after fill. My last pool that I had for 5 years was also SWG and I never added salt until the cell started to go out and started reading low salt. That ended up being a blessing because it led me to this site! Just...

I’m not sure if I’m more interested in the C7 in the garage or the renovation!

    Brushing?

You may have just been extremely lucky last year. Brushing the walls consistently helps break down any possible algae from attaching to the walls, corners, steps, etc.

What did you do to your pool today?

Invited some friends over this afternoon so first thing this morning I went out to clean the patio and run some tests so I could adjust Ph and chlorine before anyone got in. Turns out everything was exactly where I needed. Blew off the patio and ran to a Big Box hardware store to get some...

    Brushing?

I use the wall whale and am really impressed. Ideally, brushing daily would be your best option. It all depends on your schedule I guess. If you are meticulous about your chemicals and follow TFP guidelines, you can be more than safe brushing every other day but once a week may not be enough.

CSI Calculates Out of Range for Nominal Levels

I have been having the same problem. But if you let your Ph drift up to 7.7 you will be less than -0.3. My water temp has come up recently but I have just been maintaining Ph in the high 7’s in an attempt to keep the CSI in range.

    What's your current pool temp?

75* right now. Was up to 78* last week but the weather cooled down a little here. Should see it warm up quite a bit at the end of next week so maybe we will get in next weekend. New build and water added Jan 28th. I got in twice when it was 70* just to say I had been in it. Really looking...

We love lime Rum with Sprite over ice. Refreshing and not too sugary on a hot day.

Create New Forum for "Media" only - Pics/Vids of Pool Process

I do all of my reading/searching/researching on this site on my phone. I have found that if I’m viewing a build thread, if I click on the first pic, I can just swipe left and it will show me all the pics in the entire thread. Not sure if most folks use their phones or computers for viewing.

Pool Lights with Dark Pool Finish Question

My pool goes from 3.5ft to 7ft for reference. We are also in So Cal but more inland so our temps get pretty warm all summer. Like was mentioned above, I can play around with the colors if I want it to be lighter or darker in the pool.

Pool Lights with Dark Pool Finish Question

I have the Tahoe Blue plaster with only two Intellibrite lights. Mine is not as dark as yours but it is free form of about the same size. Should give you a rough idea. Just something else to think about. How warm do you like your pool in the summer? Our neighbor has the same Tahoe Blue that...

    Spillway help

Mam, yes I turned up my pump to 3,000 rpms and it seems to even out. I know I have that as a work-around. I just expected not to have to attempt to shoot the water out of the spa. I was hoping for a nice, soothing and relaxing flow of water. I may just be being too picky on this one but I gave...

    Spillway help

So are there any suggestions on how to protect the stone under the spillway? Other than not running it? Or should I just plan on cleaning it all the time? Thanks.

    Spillway help

Yes, it is as wavy as it looks. It took our PB 3 weeks to find the front piece of stone and was not able to find us one piece that was large enough.
