    Unable to pass OCLT

Hi Xdxsc. . . . Welcome to TFP! :-) Are you using one of the approved test kits to get your results? You need to add your pool equipment in your signature so the experts can help you solve your issues. Your location-region, state, etc. helps as well. Check your ladder or remove it from...

CYA absorption rates - and time between adjustments

OK, I read back through the post. It looks like I said it would take 5-8 day's max to test your water. What I "meant" was 5-8day's for it to dissolve. :hammer: My bad. Actually I started this on the 18th, 10 day's ago. It dissolved in about 3-days. My CYA is still CREAPING up . . . ...

CYA absorption rates - and time between adjustments

It helps to squeeze the sock every now and then. Walk out with a flashlight at night, turn your pump off and squeeze the sock in still water. You will see the cloud This will give you a visual of what is going on. 5 - 8 day's max.

    Algae - HELP!

 Welcome to TFP! You have come to the right place to get this resolved. I recently went through the same thing but mine looked worse. The "Doctors" will be by shortly but I can start with a few pointers. You need a test kit to test yourself. The Taylor K-2006 or the better bargain...

New AquaBot Rapids XLS and 4WD

After reading this series of post I bought the Breeze 4WD. I have never had a robot before so I have nothing to compare it to except a pool pole-vacuum head-50ft. Of hose-time. The robot wins hands down! So, the one thing I noticed is that debris get caught between the screen and the intake...

Anyone have a Hayward S240 Manual available?

I didn't want to confuse the post by asking this before it was resolved. Now that this is resolved I have a question for learning purposes. :?: The request was for a Hayward S240 pump manual. The S240 model number is for a sand filter. Was there a specific pump sold with this sand...

Anyone have a Hayward S240 Manual available?

First, welcome to TFP! Looks like the s240 is a sand filter, not the pump. Look on the motor and see if you a model number. Try the filter body and get a series name if it hasn't worn off yet. Report back, you'll find someone on here that has the manual.

I Blame TFP and the BBB Method...

Hah, That's funny . . . I worked over the last week to convert my green swamp into a TFP. I am about 1 day away from passing OCULT. I too have been tracking my activity . . . with Excel. Just this morning as I was performing my test I was thinking about a computer log. I also anticipated...

Hello from Sunny Northeast Florida :: BayScoutTim ::

OK, Performed the Vitamin-C pill test. It scrubbed the stain right off so . . . . I have iron stains. This is, I guess, is from my well water or the rusty debris that chipped/fell off of the top trim rails. Now I'm doing 2 things with the well water. Test it With the TF-100 test kit and...

    Well water testing

Nate81, This is getting out my realm of knowledge but just looking at the chemicals being used and your report of "dirty water" tells me you have a water issue. Those sound like chemicals used to treat industrial water for use by boilers and other process equipment, not for drinking. I...

    Well water testing

OK, it's hard to tell by the photo but you do have a carbon bed. The two small tanks are for bleach in one and should feed the carbon bed. The other small tank is for salt and should feed your softener. Not real sure why you have the metering pumps on top of those two smaller tanks. It...

    Well water testing

Nate81, Does your softener have a carbon filter? If so, and I'm pretty sure it does, you have to be careful about restarting the system. The carbon bed grabs and collects, filters, the micro-organisms from your well water. That carbon filter should be "regenerated" every 1 1/2 to 2 years...
