Any Generic Salt Generator Cells for Hayward that work?

Has anyone had any luck with generic replacements for the hayward aqua rite? This will be my 5th year with the original cell and I would like to see what my options are. Prices have risen dramatically. I paid $850 for my entire system 5 years ago....now just the cell is $900. Thanks

Any Generic Salt Generator Cells for Hayward that work?

Hi folks, Switched to a Hayward AquaRite 40,000 gallon unit 5 years ago. Purchased the entire system for $850.00. Have not opened my pool yet, but was checking prices on the chance that the cell needs to be replaced. $900 now for just the cell. Wow - Unbelievable. New System is $1,789...

No cover for the winter : New Jersey

I cant imagine what my pool would look like in the spring if I didn't cover it. we have a lot of trees in and around our yard. With a solid cover, I open the pool in the spring, and its ready to use in a couple days.

    Solid Cover Repair

Has anyone repaired a solid cover that has some tears in it? We have solid cover with a section that has ripped. The section is probably 2 feet by 4 feet. I was thinking of cutting some vinyl tarp material and gluing or stitching the cover to get at least another year out of it. 90 % of the...

Water Temp On closing and Algae

Thanks for the replies....couple things to note: 1. I use a hard cover so there will be no sunlight. 2. My question really revolves around the fact that in a worse case scenario getting an Algae bloom in the fall will have what effect in the spring? Water temperatures will be at least in the...

The concept of closing an in ground swimming pool

So many variations on closing. Here's a couple things I do; 1. I do not lower the water level...if anything I keep it higher than normal. I have a large pool and a solid cover. The higher water level allows for the cover to come on and off easier, causes less strain on the cover, and keeps...

Water Temp On closing and Algae

Not sure I understand the common logic of waiting for the pool water to drop below 65 or 60 degrees before closing. My water is at 72 right now, next week outside temps are suppose to go into the 80's.. Assuming I close with my solid cover today and the temps rise and my chlorine levels don't...

    My AQR-15 Rocks!

I have a 38,000 gallon pool and flip/flopped between wheter I should go with a stenner system or a SWG. The last few years I just manuually dosed with chlorine, but its tough going away for any length of time. I was leaning toward a Stenner setup just because the pool was so perfect with just...

    AQR 15 vs Taylor Kit

I added the salt to my shallow end right under the return jet...and spead it around till it was dissolved 3/4 one day, 1/4 the next day. We'll see what it reads tommorow. Going in for first time.. Thanks all!

    AQR 15 vs Taylor Kit

Thanks all. I must be real sensitive to salt taste. Because when I did my initial measurements I figured I was at about 2800 - 2900 and I tasted the salt...I'll just keep in aye on it...hope the SWG doesnt say its 4500 tommorow!!!

    AQR 15 vs Taylor Kit

so I just switched to SWG and installed my Hayward AQR 15. So far so good, with one exception. I used the Taylor test kit for salt and at first the numbers compared to the SWG matched very well, when I was in the 2800 - 2900 range for salt. Then I added about 160 more pounds to get the SWG...

    Hayward Average Salt level Default

Installed a new hayward AQR-15. The average salt level has default 2800. What exactly does that mean? So it doesnt really read the salt level, it takes an average over some period of time? It read 2800 when I first installed it with no salt added to the pool. I added a conservative amount...

    SWG help

Sky, Just started looking at your post because I am considering a Hayward system even though I have a large pool. anyone using an AQR-15 for a 35,000 - 40,000 gallon pool?

I have not looked at autopilot...Chief, last year I recorder my daily FC loss. It was about 1.5 ppm, with an average FC level of between 6 - 8 dosing with bleach. I would think that if I maintain my FC level between 1- 3 as suggested for SW Pools, my FC loss would be even less. This is what...

Its actually closer to 36,000 gallons. Its a true "L" with a 20 x 40 section where half of it is a deep end thats 10 feet deep, and the other half around 4 feet deep. Then the "L" is another 12 feet by 20 feet and thats 3 feet deep. Its a big pool................
