Does it matter which way it goes on? I never noticed FRONT, I guess that would be pump inlet? I usually put ithe cover on 'backwards' which puts the handle near the pump outlet, so I can place my foot near the pump base (99.9% of the time avoiding the ozonator fitting) as I step over the...

After looking closer at my 2 blue hoses, I realized this one went to the ozonator I unplugged years ago.

Wow, found one those in my brass bin, and some 1/4 NPT plugs. The o-ring squishes out, I will need a big washer, and the hose is a b!tch to get on past the tip. I'm gonna see if I can locate the correct union before plugging both ends.

2 pics uploaded. Its next to the drain; now its broken and acting like a drain  So I dont need this 'pressure relief hose'? If I can get the correct fitting, it will be easier to replace that. Otherwise I'll have to plug the other end (tee'd into the pressure gauge fitting)

Posting here before I begin my google search. I accidentally kicked and broke the small plastic fitting at the base of the pump. Hose connects to the top of the filter housing. Is this a piece I can get from Lowes/Tractor Supply, or dare I say Leslies? [I'll add pics in a few minutes]

    Time to replace T15

A few days ago I noticed salt level on controller said 2900ppm. I didn't have any to add, until 2 days later when I was getting errors on my Blue Haven /Hayward controller...CHLORINATOR OFF/TEST SALT LEVEL, CHECK SYSTEM/VERY LOW SALT and INSTANT SALT/CHLORINATOR OFF. I added 2x40lbs, no change...

"Check system no cell power 2" error

I'll update this thread and give props to Salt Solutions. After my failed attempt at resoldering the relay, I decided to send my board out to a pro. I paid up online, got my mailing label from Salt Solutions, then waited until after Labor Day (small USPS snafu here...the mailing label needs to...

"Check system no cell power 2" error

Now that I've read a little more. I now know better than to plug 100ft extension cord and circular saw into the same outlet as my Blue Haven /Hayward pool controller. After working on my shed, I got the CHECK SYSTEM NO CELL POWER ERROR. I wasnt terribly worried because I've had what I thought...

Why not make PoolMath an App?

I was trying to find my Simple Pool (free) but it seems gone, got removed from my phone. I do see the Simple Pool Pro on the play store for $4.99. I guess I'll try PoolPal again

    Chlorine testing---Does order matter

I guess so. I was testing the FC and CC with my TFT test kit, and after 2 drops of the first reagent, I realized I had forgot to add the powder. So I added in one spoonful, then continued with the drops...3,4,5...I only got to 9, FC 4,5 when it went clear, I was expecting FC 7-9. Ok, strange...

    SLAM or not?

Strange... FC 4.5, CC 0. This may have been the first time I actually measured 0 CC, usually there is at least a slight pink tint after adding the 5 drops of reagent.

    SLAM or not?

I think I've been true to the TFP method, haven't added anything but salt, cya, and elbow grease brushing the walls, been using my TF100 to check the FC regularly. I've still been having issues with what looks like rust on the light blue/white liner, but upon closer inspection (dive underwater...

    Adjusting pool for summer

Last week, the air temp dropped where swimming was undesirable and we got a good amount of rain. I tested Friday night... FC 5.5 CC 0.5 pH 7.2 TA 60 CH 25 CYA 60 I was surprised to see so much FC drop, so dialed the SWG up to 20%. I'm feeling good about my test results from tonight... FC 5.0...

cover keeps water warmer or cooler?

This is our first season with a solar cover ( blue bubble wrap) and I'm gonna say covered keeps it warmer. Ours has been covered all the time except when we're swimming or cleaning, temp was 81 a few weekends ago. My friends inlaws pool of similar size and sun exposure was only 71. We saw...

    Dream Home.....Nightmare Pool

For the CYA, I just bought a 25lb bucket of stabilizer powder from amazon, $70, but got $30 instant gift card for applying for their credit card. Delivery took a few days. Adjusting pool for summer

OK, I think I'm getting the hang of this. Sunday 7:30am FC 13.5 CC 0..5 pH 7.2 TA 70 CH 25 CYA 60 water is clear, plenty of kids enjoyed it throughout the day. SWG was set to 10%, pump ran on high most of the day. Sun.8:30pm FC 12.0, CC 1.0...TC 13.0 ran pump on low overnight, SWG off...

    When to add salt

Back washing...good point, but that doesn't apply to cartridge filter systems. What other measurements does increasing the salt ppm affect? I was under the impression low salt level could be bad for the SWG. Not trying to be argumentative, just trying to get a better understanding of this...

    When to add salt

I'm reading as much as I can here, trying to make this pool care second nature to me. I encountered advice in this thread (http://www.troublefreepool.com/threads/74142-Help-with-my-test-results) and was surprised by the recommendation to add salt last. I didn't think the salt concentration...
