How much chlorine to add for the weekend?

I am heading out for the weekend and I'm not sure how much chlorine I need to add to the pool to compensate for the two days I'm gone. And do I need to cover my pool or leave it uncovered? My levels are as follows FC 4 PH 7.5 CYA 40

My water is cloudy, and need some advice please

my pool water is cloudy. I'm trying to figure out why? I brought my FC level up to 8 or 9 (i will test when i get home) the day before when the water was clear and now it is cloudy. I think my CYA level is about 30ppm and my ph is around 7.5. Any thoughts on why it is so cloudy?

    Pool Broom

From what I read the batteries last a long time. One review the guy said he hasn't changed them in 5 years. Others say it lasts the whole swimming season. I'm wondering the same thing on the extension pole.

    Pool Broom

Carly, do you have the extension pole for the aqua broom? From what I read is it is only 2' long. I would like to have an extension pole but not sure what pole attaches to the vacuum. And also does it pick up sand and small dirt particles?

Good pool vacuum/brush that's hooks up to intex sand filter?

Re: Good pool vacuum/brush that's hooks up to intex sand fil The intex pool I have doesn't have a skimmer. So I would have to put the intake hose on the vacuum somehow.

Good pool vacuum/brush that's hooks up to intex sand filter?

I am looking for a decent (not espensive) pool vacuum. Preferably that attaches to an intex Krystal clear sand filter. I have heard that intex filters don't have adapters that fit to vacuums? I may be wrong on this but I'm not sure. I am in the dark on this and would like to buy a good vacuum...

unlevel pool, 6 inches off, lets not drain it!

I had the same, exactly the same problem last week when I put mine up. Same pool and size and I was 6" off. Best advice. DRAIN THE POOL AND DO IT RIGHT!!! Water is cheap. You obviously have some money invested so why skimp out now? Because you dont want to fill it up again? Yeah it sucks but you...

How long should I run my filter?

I own a intex Krystal clear 1600gal/hr sand filter and was wondering how long to run it in cycles. I run it for 2hrs at night when adding chemicals and run it for 4 hrs during the day. Is this long enough? Or should I run it longer/shorter. My intex pool is 3800 gallons. Input?

    Is this really normal?

So do you only add it if algae shows up? I was wondering about this too.

    Intex a little unlevel?

A couple of questions I have here and would greatly appreciate some feedback. My intex pool I installed is 2" at the most in level on one side. Is this a problem? Also we just had a heavy rain. Will that raise or lower my ph and chlorine? My guess it will dilute the FC but Im not sure.

Oh and to the person asking about the chemicals. The chlorine granules are 47.5% cal-hypo (which they won't have to worry to much cause this is a vynil pool. I don't keep track anyway.

I just installed this same pool. I'm assuming you have HTH products from Walmart. As do I. Here is what I do. Your pool holds 3,861 gallons filled up (90%). Your ph and alkalinity seems ideal which is good. So theres no need to add ph plus/minus. Take a sock and fill 15-16oz of stabilizer and...

What is wrong with test strips?

I am new to this forum and I am very interested and like seeing the responses on other threads. There is good info here but I was just wondering why does everyone on this forum turn their heads to test strips and why are they inaccurate? I just purchased HTH 6 way test kit from Walmart but also...

Question on what chemicals to add to my 14' 48" intex pool?

Re: Question on what chemicals to add to my 14' 48" intex po Can I essentially dissolve the CYA in a bucket with pool water and then dump it in? Will that be ok. I don't have any trichlor. I just have HTH sanitize(CYA), chlorine granules and shock n swim (which to me is the exact same thing as...

Question on what chemicals to add to my 14' 48" intex pool?

Re: Question on what chemicals to add to my 14' 48" intex po Thank you Allison! Now should I just add the HTH stabilizer (CYA) at night or in the morning, or during the day? The thread I read says to put it in a sock and tie it to your ladder and let it disperse like that. Another question I...

Question on what chemicals to add to my 14' 48" intex pool?

Re: Question on what chemicals to add to my 14' 48" intex po I read the temporary pop up pool guide and it states you add shock 4 nights in a row to acquire a CYA of about 30ppm. I guess what I'm asking is can you do this with HTH Shock n Swim? And is this stuff the same as regular pool shock...

Re: Question on what chemicals to add to my 14' 48" intex po Thank you for your respose. It was very helpful. Question on what chemicals to add to my 14' 48" intex pool?

Hi everyone. I'm new to the pool gig. Just put up a 14' 48" intex pool (mostly because of my 6 month old son, he love the water). With that being said I have done a little bit of research under pool school and know some of the abrviations and definitions on chemicals. I just don't know where to...
