    SWG timer wiring

The SWG manufacturer told me today that there has been a known issue with Grasslin time clocks for the last couple of years. RS has agreed to give me a refund for the clock.

    SWG timer wiring

No. Off peak circuit (controlled load) here is only for hot water so the SWG has power 24/7. As a temporary fix I have plugged in a timer clock into the socket with the SWG plugged into that.

    SWG timer wiring

The new one has lasted a week. I don't understand it. It has stopped completely and there is no ticking which there should be with the lithium battery back-up. Wondering if it is fluctuating voltage or something else which is killing these clocks rather than something wrong with clocks or maybe...

    Adding a flow switch

It's not air in the cell, it's a build up of white gas when there is no water flow (pump and cell on) which I assume is chlorine. From what I read the gas sensor is better than the flow paddle type (which from experience with Intex system I used to have, they can corrode and get stuck in the...

    SWG timer wiring

If this one dies, they offer a digital clock option. Anyone know if the digital type are any more reliable/longer lived than the mechanical?

    Ok thanks, will do.

    Adding a flow switch

No because the cell is off. But manual switching isn't going to help, if that's what you mean? Rather than a flow sensor, I think there may be a gas sensor in the cell. I just read that in Oz all SWG's have to be supplied with one or the other. There is no paddle type flow sensor so there must...

    SWG timer wiring

RS replaced it under warranty without much hassle. Just wanted to make sure wiring was correct before installing it.

    Adding a flow switch

Wondering if I can replace the cell with one from another manufacturer, with one that has low flow detection or does the power pack have to have the ability to work with that type of cell?

    Adding a flow switch

Hi mate, It's a CrystalChlor RP/EC Models | Crystal Aquatic SystemsCrystal Aquatic Systems Made in 'Straya. I have seen a build up of chlorine in the cell when there is no flow (air in system or cleaner hose comes apart). I don't think there is flow sensor in the cell but I hope I'm wrong...

    SWG timer wiring

Took the timer out of the SWG yesterday and have watched it closely, running on the lithium battery back-up. It was keeping very good time for about 8 hours then suddenly lost 45 minutes. I think it must be stripped gears rather than wiring or power supply issues. Thanks for you help.

    Adding a flow switch

I want to add a low flow switch to my SWG system in case water flow stops and chlorine builds up. The SWG has the pump plugged into it. There doesn't seem to be a way of adding a flow switch override to the SWG. Is there a simple way of adding a flow switch controller before the SWG so that the...

    SWG timer wiring

Hi TFP people, first post. I replaced a failed no brand mechanical timer which came with my SWG, a couple of years ago with a German made Grasslin. Identical clock except that the first clock had I think, four terminals and the Grasslin had five. I was very careful to keep the wires in the same...
