    Bright Blue Milk!!

Oh my goodness…that’s so very kind of you! But I think we are a bit out of your way…about 2hrs from Bordeaux! So, pictures attached. As you can see the colour is good! The shallow end is looking clearer, as is the deep end (you can just make out the main drain and a forgotten diving toy!)…but...

Yes I have the app and understand the SLAM process. I did a SLAM on the pool when it first got cloudy (after waiting a few days after adding the initial metal treatment so as not to go completely back to square one again!) However, this was based on my strip readings of CYA at 0 so raised the...

    Bright Blue Milk!!

Aha…okay. So I will try to buy in Spain then. So strange they aren’t available in France! Unless it’s more of a temporary supply issue that’s the problem…

Okay - thanks for that info… I read while researching that some ‘body’ hasn’t approved the reagents for use here, but I will check out this link - thanks.

    Bright Blue Milk!!

That would be awesome…I appreciate it will be advice on ‘estimated’ readings, but as you say, I need to keep on this and can only work with what I have!! So this mornings readings at 11am: FC 2 TC 2 TA 160 PH 6.8 TH 100 CYA 40 I turned off the filter overnight and more crud and white powder...

    Bright Blue Milk!!

Hi…but the floc doesn’t go through my sand? Doesn’t it all(at least the clumped up parts) get hoovered out to waste?

    Bright Blue Milk!!

Hi there…so a little update: I am still without the means for accurate testing. It seems the liquid reagents are ‘illegal’ in the EU?! So I am having to limp along with the strips I have. I’ve started using plain bleach as recommended, which seems to work so much quicker than the dissolved...

    Bright Blue Milk!!

Thanks…it seems insane that if this kit is so useful, and widely recommended over there, it’s so hard to find here in Europe!!?!!

    Bright Blue Milk!!

Hi. The active ingredient listed is Symclosène…which a quick google check tells me is a tri-Chlor with stabiliser…so could a way high CYA reading cause cloudy water? To be honest I haven’t paid much attention to the CYA because it always tested as 0! I understand it is ‘sunscreen for chlorine’...

    Bright Blue Milk!!

Okay…thanks! Just to check…can I use ‘household’ bleach if it is, as you say, unscented etc? I will look into the test kit…I can get K2006 from the US in about a week for €120…is that reasonable? Although there may be customs charges??!! Will check out the UK equivalents too…thanks. For now, I...

    Bright Blue Milk!!

Salut!! Thanks for replies! I’m currently using test strips that test the 6 elements in my post. I’ve tried to find the Taylor 2006 in France but it seems to be ‘currently unavailable’! For as long as we’ve had the pool we’ve used the ‘pucks’ but never once had a positive CYA reading?! No...

    Bright Blue Milk!!

Hi. I’ve been reading with great interest many posts on this forum as its absolutely the best I’ve found! We are in SW France, so the only problem I have is the unit conversions and substitutes for products available here! We inherited a 144000l pool (12m x 6m overall size - 1.2m at shallow end...
