    Removing Cartridge filter to vacuum

Yes. Builder didn’t provide any way to drain the water, so i asked for one. I wasnt thinking of a vacuum. What he put in drains filtered water. may have it changed one day. Frankly, I have never used the vacuum. Robot takes care of it. But been reading all the troubled pool owners with floc...

    Removing Cartridge filter to vacuum

I have a cartridge filter and way to divert to waist. However, the diversion to waist is after the filter. If i need to vacuum to waist and spare my filter, can i simply remove the cartridge, replace the top, divert to waist and run the pump?

    UGH!

Test and add LQ to 16 as often as you can. Every 2 hours until you see fc starting to hold. Trick is to hold that level as much as possible. When the fc level drops, you are no longer slamming at full strength.

    What are these white flakes?

Probably calcium. Could be building up on the SWG. Might check hardness, PH and clean the SWG cell.

    Newbie here

Yep. Need to add Muratic Acid to lower PH. Everything else looks good if you have a vynal pool. Plaster or concrete might stain with that high calcium.

    Salt level discrepancies

The cell is the least accurate. The Taylor is the most accurate. 3800 is not too high. But you probably didn't need that recent bag.

    Consistently High TA

The problem is high TA will cause your PH to rise faster. You will need to test PH often to keep it below 8. As you lower PH, it will also lower TA. So over time your TA will come down and your PH will not rise as quickly. Eventually you will find a sweet spot (50-70).

    Pool heater recommendations

I installed a Raypak 8450 and it works great for my pool. Can raise temp 10 deg per day. Very low operating cost.

@mknauss - Can you explain you to perform this connection? If have plugged in the RS-485 cable to the pump (Superflo VST 342002) and connected the yellow and green wires to terminals 2 & 3 on the ichlor 30. When connected, the pump seems to go into service mode and it does not seem to turn the...

New Pool, New to TFP and a $1000 power bill!

In my pool (set to 88 with a heat pump), my pump runs 16 hours and the heat pump is “on” when the pump is on. But it only takes 4 hours to reach the set point and if the sun is shining it never runs again until the sun goes down. And the pool temp will drift up (which is fine with me). If you...
