I figured it out. I suspect 2 years back, I reduced the time running the pump in hopes of saving elec costs. It was only running about 6 hours a day. 2 in the morning and 3 in the evening. I am running it 14 hours now and the pool is crystal clear. Should have thought of that sooner.

Water is super clear but it always has been just all the algae is gone there are a couple of sort of faint pink spots that used to be green algae spots so I'm probably going to give it another day and throw in another jug of chlorine

Seems to be holding steady at 20. Tested 5 hours ago and just tested and no change.

So I have my PPM up to where it needs to be (20) When I add the 5 drops of 0003, it is no longer going back to pink / red. It is staying clear. What does that mean?

I think its going to be the degradation. If anything from above comments, it seems my pool volume is less than the build paperwork estimates. Also given that it has been ~110 degrees in Dallas for the last 2 months, I suspect this chlorine is significantly reduced in potency.

I have a pool water test kit that I use but it appears I need to slam my pool and the chlorine test only goes to 10. I see TFP sells kits but I don't need the whole kit, I just need to be able to test chlorine levels above 10. Where might I find this one component?

One correction. I went to get the model number of my SWG and it looks like I misspoke. This is the one I have which says it is for 40,000 gallons. So what I would like to know is how much should I be running this given my setup? Question number two, I've read the page and watch the video...
