    Outdoor audio and pool controls

    A Sonance outdoor speaker setup with a Sonos Amp is pretty solid. For control, wouldn’t it be easier to just use your phones? It might defeat the purpose of having all these controls if you have to walk over to a mounted tablet every time you need to change the music or pool light setting.

    Pentair microbrite to globrite niche adapter

    Not that it helps your problem but another option is the Jandy Watercolors Hydrocool 1.5” lights. They make a “P” version that is compatible with Pentair automation and they come in several different wattages.

    Equipment for future automation upgrades

    We went the easy way and did it from the start but a safe bet is to go with Pentair or compatible equipment for the pump, salt, and lights. Heater brand doesn’t really matter for automation from what I’ve seen.

    Backwash hose issues

    Yes, I switched to a 2” discharge hose from harbor freight which is surprisingly great quality. Originally I was going to do a cam lock but after getting the adapters it seemed a little overly fussy for the application so I switched to a standard 2” NPT threaded connector and have been very happy.

    We just finished our build with a vintage mosaic/blue mosaic liner and we are very please with it.
