    Sizing DE Pool Filter

My 2 cents.... I just got the Pentair Quad 100 DE filter for my 19000 gal in ground. I hope to only clean it twice a year. No back washing for me...just break it down, clean and recharge. I went oversized on purpose.

Help me simplify my piping diagram. not sure if its possible.

I'll research the suction side cleaners .... My wife would like it if the Polaris wasn't spraying water on her windows every day. Would I just use the same line that the booster pump is on but splice it in to my suction from the skimmer? looks like I got my reading for this evening.

Help me simplify my piping diagram. not sure if its possible.

Access is a problem. When I have to work on the Pump/motor it becomes difficult in the tight space. I'm hoping the narrower Pentair filter(22") vs 30" on the Current sand filter will help that situation. I was even going to try moving the Booster Pump from it's current location to the other...

Help me simplify my piping diagram. not sure if its possible.

The reason I posted to the forum is that I don't know what I don't know. My initial thoughts were to do just as you said; fit in the new equipment and replace what ever plumbing and fittings I have to and call it good. But then I started reading up more on pool plumbing and water flow...

Help me simplify my piping diagram. not sure if its possible.

Thats Correct on all three points Spa only with propane. The spa is a spillover to the pool, just an fyi. I'm good with Chlorinating just the pool. when we use the spa it's never for very long(2-3 hrs max) and then I go back to spillover mode which eventually replaces the spa water. Yes and...

Help me simplify my piping diagram. not sure if its possible.

Appreciate the reply Dirk. So my diagram is what I currently have as a set up.... My diagram is a lot, I get it, but thats b/c there is a lot going on around the pad as you can see from the partial pics below. When the previous owner added Solar and the SWG about 15 yrs ago he had those...

Help me simplify my piping diagram. not sure if its possible.

I'll preface to say I have another thread in this forum from a week ago with an actual picture of my pad that has been labeled by a forum heavy hitter...thank you ajw22! I also completed a very accurate diagram of the piping and I'm looking for some ideas on what I can do to simplify the...

Does an in wall Spa Check valve need a Jandy 2 way valve on the same line.

Allen, Sorry for the delay but here is my current equipment area diagram. I think it's 95% accurate as far as the dims go. Let me know what you think. I can also send as a pdf, if needed. I couldn't get the 'return from solar' check valve and 2" line coming out of the ground onto the...

Does an in wall Spa Check valve need a Jandy 2 way valve on the same line.

No. I don't believe so. There is only one suction line to the equipment area.

Does an in wall Spa Check valve need a Jandy 2 way valve on the same line.

That Pentair solar controller looks great and would def suit my nds. If I can't get the Helio-Matic working I'll be looking to get that. Thanks for the tip. I researched Spa makeup line info and it seems that it's as you indicated....it was a way to circulate filtered, sanitized, and heated...

Does an in wall Spa Check valve need a Jandy 2 way valve on the same line.

The Solar Controller is a Helio-Matic. HM4000C made in 2003. It has a water temp sensor and rooftop sun heat sensor. It stopped working a few years ago and now I manually turn the solar valve to send water to the panels when needed. The Helio-Matic was fine when it was working. As far...

Does an in wall Spa Check valve need a Jandy 2 way valve on the same line.

Alas, I wish I could. I purchased a used one that was really cheap; it runs, but after my research I have learned what so many already know. Oh well... if I only get a year or two out of it I'll be OK and then get a more reliable VSP. So the Spa has two Drains on the bottom floor about 18"...

Does an in wall Spa Check valve need a Jandy 2 way valve on the same line.

Well, through pipe F1 which is the only route for water to the spa. Agreed!! Hmmm. Right now, the only pool/spa selection i have is through the 3 way valve labeled F I'm guessing I need to keep a valve on the Mystery line/Spa makeup line since I can't remove it and can't cap it? So the...

Does an in wall Spa Check valve need a Jandy 2 way valve on the same line.

Actually from F3 the pipe goes to the SWG and then directly to the pool returns via the 1.5" pipe right underneath and in front of the two gate valves labeled B(pool skimmer suction) and C (Spa drain suction) The blower is hiding some heater piping but the 1.5" pipe just to the left of the...

Does an in wall Spa Check valve need a Jandy 2 way valve on the same line.

Yes! Valve A is a Turn off for the Spa returns. you can't see it but A1 pipe has a 45 degree fitting that takes it left toward the spa. It doesn't go as you indicated to E1. E1 turns toward the bottom of the pic and goes about 10 feet underground then up onto the patio roof for solar...

Does an in wall Spa Check valve need a Jandy 2 way valve on the same line.

Sorry about the over explanation. Probably why I'm not getting many responses. First off, I'm Derek and I was responding to a question about the Ball Valves so the second comment/question isn't mine. That PIC is mine. That's my spaghetti pad. So the gate valve I'm speaking of is the...

Does an in wall Spa Check valve need a Jandy 2 way valve on the same line.

I received only 2 posts to my first queries so maybe a more pointed question is in order? Pointed question is below if you want to skip the explanation! So I'm getting to rebuild my pool pad and in all my research I couldn't find an answer to the above question. I have a pool that was built...

    Replace ball valve

Good Advice. 6 yrs ago when I was a brand spankin' new pool owner I had to replace some 2" Brass gate valves that had seen better days. Not knowing any difference I went out and bought the same gate valves to install thinking I had to keep everything the same. You can see from the picture, my...

Hello from Phoenix - Pad Rebuild

I did some valve turning and I think I figured out the two valves in pic #4 above...... NOT the the two red handled gate valves on the right.....They are suction...the left gate valve is from the skimmer (that also has the main drain coming up into the bottom with the flying saucer thing over...

Hello from Phoenix - Pad Rebuild

LOL, I wish I had heard of that before just to give it a try! However at this time I've decided to go with the Pentair Quad De 100 for a couple reasons, to get the better filtering of the fine dust that seems to be everywhere in the Phoenix area and to get some more space on the pad for the...
