The laterals look fine, no breaks or cracks. It is a brand new valve, what signs would I look for on the multi-port? or would it be that obvious if something is amiss....?? Thanks

Turned off pump for 2 hours and no dust settled at bottom of pool. It is that dam eyeball messing things up!!!

If I take the eye off and have it just open all the way, nothing screwed on there, the pressure drops from 14 to 10. And no silt form on the bottom of pool....

OCLT was 0 I figured out my problem, just not sure the "why's" of it. The same thing happened to me with my last filter, thought this new filter would take care of it. Thought of it last night and gave it a try and it worked. For some reason, my return eye diverter needs to be left off...

I have not checked my numbers in about 1 week, but when I opened it up from winter, all numbers were good. I did backwash new sand. I will have to recheck numbers and post again tomorrow, esp the OCLT. It makes a cloud when I brush it, too cold to get in and see if it is sand (temp is 60)...

I threw the bags away already, but I saw that they were #20 quartz. I would have to call pool store for brand and they are out of them right now to look at bag. I think my diameter is too small, it is a 16".

Could I just add DE to top of sand to catch the fine silt?

It is a Pooline D-400. the 400 is the diameter, I assume it is metric.

How does one measure that 18" diameter? The center of filter its self? It is a Pentair Dynamo pump

I went and bought a new sand filter without looking up what I should have really gotten. I bought a 100# filter. With my previous filter and now with this one, I keep getting fine silt on bottom of pool. I assume it is coming from filter, since while I vacuum and the pump is on high, i see it...

Great, thanks for the info. What manufacturer did you find that for? just curious? I thought it might connect into muti-port valve also, but do not see anyplace for such a connection..

Bought a new sand filter and attached to the lateral end is a small clear tube with small filter on end. Does anyone know where this is supposed to go. Does it get buried into the rest of the sand or stay above the sand level. Direction do not even mention it.

My pressure reading are" High speed: 16psi Low speed: 8psi

Will have to look at PSI's when I get home, just can not remember. I kinda had a feeling it was the laterals, just trying to hang onto every dollar until I have to....

I am not at home right now, will have to measure it, but it around a 6' to 7'. That was my question in the original post, if putting in the 2" PVC would reduce the pressure at the eye?, so I can run full speed when vacuuming, etc....

Is this at Menard you are getting this bleach? Is it this one here: http://www.menards.com/main/p-2272458-c-10137.htm I can not find it in their ad, is it an instore special??

If your CYA is actually closer to 60, you may want to keep your chlorine levels closer to 24ppm.

Also want to note that when it does trip, I do not have the pump on. The power to the pump is shut off at the timer. So, with that being said, I know it cant be my pump....

I have read the directions for the timer, thought I had it hooked up correctly, but obviously I don't. I am hoping someone has some insight on this. The terminals I have are L 1 X 2. So far, I have wires the black from the house to "L". "L & 1" are bridged together, but can be removed...
