Above ground solar cover reel for a 30' dia. pool

When I first saw this I thought, wow, what a great idea. But then I realize how heavy the solar cover is and would never want that much weight hanging on my rails and/or walls. Just my thought.

Who’s getting ready for the next season?!

Very much ready for this summer! We finished installation of our pool the end of August last year so only got a couple weeks of swimming in before it got too cold. Hubby got me a solar cover for Christmas! Then ordered all my chemicals I will need for this summer before they start becoming...

Worried about my 30' new AGP

This is my first winter with my new pool. Did everything I believe in the right fashion in regards to winterizing. Felt pretty good up until today. As you can see, ice has formed, which was expected. Today we are expecting melting, an additional two inches of rain and then a flash freeze...

Help! Can't decide - Pillow? or No Pillow?

GOOGLE: Air Pillows are a winter closing essential for above ground pools in colder climates. This rugged vinyl air pillow absorbs the pressure of freezing and thawing to protect the cover and walls of your pool. When your pool water freezes, the Air Pillow compresses to relieve pressure on...

Help! Can't decide - Pillow? or No Pillow?

I live in Central PA. Our winters can be very cold as we get Nor'Easters and sometimes polar vortex. I see pools around me closing and some use a pillow and some do not. I've also read various threads here where people say it's a personal choice. My pool is a AGP 30' 22K gallons. They say a...

    Closing Early in Central PA?

Greetings! This year will be my first closing. I'm waiting for my water to reach 60 degrees, as instructed here on TFP. But I have noticed some other AGPs here in the area are already covered! Today my water is 70 degrees so I wouldn't dream of winterizing it just yet. How are they getting...

Closing Procedure Tips for Above Ground

So according to what I've read in the attached thread above, I don't need to buy the "winterizing kits" for sale from places like "In The Swim"??? And I've read both positive and negative comments on a pillow. Since my pool is rather large (30' round), I was thinking the pillow would be a good...

    Pool strips vs. test kits

Hi all! I've had my pool now for a month using test strips. So far I haven't had any serious problems with maintaining my levels. The only problems I have is trying to keep the pH down and FC up. I add Clorox pH Lower and it does it's job. For low FC I add 1 lb. of shock and that seems to...

I am a school bus driver. We here in central PA begin school on the 31st. MS and HS are on a A/B schedule, alternating in person and virtually on line. Elementary are not practicing a divided schedule. However all students/parents have 3 options. In person, virtual, or what we call Cougar...

    Welcome Big Bertha!

On July 6, we clicked the "buy" button to purchase this 30' Blue Wave Zanzibar Hybrid AGP. After lots of blood, sweat, and tears (and I blew my knee out falling off the ladder), we filled her up on August 13! I am so thankful for this site as it has helped me along the way!

Freshly Installed Liner - lots of wrinkles. Suggestions?

We did our best to get rid of all the floor wrinkles before water was installed. Even after a couple of inches, the wrinkles can be worked out to the edges. Just takes patience. I hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.

Thank you! That's what we figured.....that the liner will stretch! We plan on having two trucks come out Monday to fill half way, install the skimmer, then have the other two truck come Tuesday to finishing filling up the pool.
