Not using the pool this coming season!

Sadly the fire wasn't near the pool. It is quite windy at my house and I fear draining it might compromise it. At the cost of it I might just drain it and figure a way to cover the area. Then hopefully next season I'll either replace or look into the inground option. Thank you for the reply.

Not using the pool this coming season!

I am going to start by saying no one was hurt. We had a house fire. So we are going to be out of our house for until Fall(hopefully.) With that being said is there anything I can do to my pool so that if we still use it in 2021 it will be ready? I am hoping when everything is said and done...

    Winterizing a sand filter.

Last year I disconnected the filter part of the pump and dragged it into my garage. I didn't think about the fact that all that movement may damage the laterals. Luckily it didn't. I thought I remembered someone on here said they didn't put their filter away in the winter. Any suggestions for...

    Bonding a temporary pool.

I am considering having an in ground pool installed. And just looking into it was reading about bonding. I was curious why you don't have to bond a temporary pool like an Intex?

    Leak at pump.

I'm not sure what I did but it's not leaking anymore. I might have had it too tight and kinked the seal. But thank you for your help.

    Leak at pump.

I am sorry I read your response wrong. It is the connection above 41 and the gasket/seal is number 11. I realized I have an extra one where the backwash is so I'm going to try that this afternoon and see if it makes a difference.

    Leak at pump.

Yes as far as I can tell. It's an Intex flexible hose connecting to an Intex sand filter and pump. I align the hose to the seal and then bring the nut in and tighten it. Might be a bad seal. I was wondering if it dried out.

    Leak at pump.

Suction side of my pump. I assume it's the gasket. I tried to tighten it more and it didn't help. I disconnected it and held it on and it seemed fine. Maybe thread tape? But scared that might damage the threads.

    Leak at pump.

I have a leak. It is on the suction side of my sand filter. It appears to be leaking around the threads. Last year I stored it in my basement. I have disconnected the pipe and switched the connection and it still is leaking in the same spot. The gasket looks fine. I'm not sure if I missed...

Permanent electric outlet for Intex pump

Thanks for mentioning that. I was not sure and was going back to Home Depot today. So I'll get the right kind.

I lost the tip of the CYA test bottle.

I was just wanted to make sure doing that would not change the test.

I lost the tip of the CYA test bottle.

I lost the tip of the bottle you fill up with the red cap. Can I still mix it and cover the hole and then pour it into the viewing tube?

Permanent electric outlet for Intex pump

My project for the weekend weather pending is to run a permanent outlet to my pump. Right now it is plugged into a outdoor electrical outlet mounted on the side of my house. It is a dedicated 20 amp circuit. I was going to run 1/2 inch schedule 40 pvc conduit that is made for going...

New Filter. Maybe a sand filter?

I hope someone else looking for a filter reads this. WHY DIDN'T I BUY A SAND FILTER FROM THE BEGINNING! I topped off the pool starting yesterday and have been running the filter all day. It's amazing.

    Hydro aeration inlet.

I ended up putting it on anyway. You can cover the air valve so I guess I have it as an option that I most likely won't use.

New sand filter installed questions about initial setup.

I bought a Krystal Clear 3000 GPH Above Ground Swimming Pool Sand Filter Pump and installed it today. I used pool filter sand. The instructions said to run it on Backwash until the water is clear in the sight glass or flows clear out of the outlet. The water is clear but the sight glass still...

    Hydro aeration inlet.

I bought a new sand filter and it comes with a hydro aeration inlet. Is there any reason why I would or would not use it? In all the time I've had my pools I have never needed to adjust the TA.

New Filter. Maybe a sand filter?

I am looking into a new filter and am thinking about a sand filter. The one in the link below. Any thoughts on them. Also what kind of sand? I think I remember somewhere here they had mentioned a cheaper sand that was not sold as sand for a pool filter. Intex 28651EG Krystal Clear 3000 GPH...

    Water quality.

This is the first year I decided to cover and add chlorine during the winter. I've covered in the past and it has blown off so I gave up and just drain and refill every year. So I peaked under the cover last week and and saw a bit of dustish material on bottom but other than that beautiful...

    Filter fabric

Years ago I bought a filter cage that was covered in fabric to replace my cartridge filters. I need to replace the fabric covers and the place I bought it at no longer exists. So I am going to make my own. But I am not sure what type of fabric to order. I have felt and PTFE MEMBRANE SURFACE...

    Going away on vacation.

I am going away on vacant. Normally I would get the pool up to shock level figure out when I need to add chlorine based on my average consumption and pre measure chlorine so someone can just stop by dump a bottle in and go. This year they are away as well. But will be back before me. The math...

    Pool blaster vac.

Amazon.com : Water Tech Pool Blaster Max : Swimming Pool Handheld Vacuums : Patio, Lawn Garden I still love it. Over the winter I charged it a few times less then the instructions said and have noticed no difference in battery life. I can do my whole pool before the it starts to bog down.
