    Checking back in. TA is up to 60 and pH is finally readable! had it at 7.0 this morning. Used the FAS DPD test recommended here and had a FC of 5 with no CC. Thanks for the assistance! still have some more to do, but you were all helpful

    I have a sand filter and have to vacuum to waste frequently due to some trees near the pool (planning on removing, here when we moved in). Will that removal of water and the addition of city water/rainwater slowly lower it throughout the year?

    Thanks for the reply! Just went and tested TA twice. The solution was red when I added the R-0008, which I believe is showing it is very low. So my next actions are adding baking soda. Pool math has 25 pounds listed for a TA of 0, 21 for 10 and 18 pounds for 20. Since I did not even add a drop...
