    Help to replace light

I removed my light to clean behind it (algae). Now I can't get it back in. Its been sitting on the side of my pool for 2 months now. I am having trouble trying to keep my body from moving while holding the light down (it wants to float up) AND aligning the screw all at the same time. Any tips to...

    Pool hose care?

Any tips for maintaining pool hoses for the vacuum? I have had a Barracuda MX8 for about 3 years, and I need to replace at least 2 or 3 hoses every year because they crack. I originally was storing them on a rack outside when not in use, but the Florida sun was rotting them. So now I put them in...

    Waterguru Inaccurate Readings

@bboehm @A_kraker99 I don't like to revive old threads, but this is the newest one I found on the guru. Now that you 2 have had it for a while what do you think? Is yours gen 2? I am contemplating buying one to help with daily testing.

    Pool refill

I did the CYA after 72 hours, which was on Friday. The CYA is at 45 on the last test. The contractors left the pool filling on Monday, Tuesday morning it was full. Tuesday - Thursday I brushed twice a day, testing for pH about 2 hours after the 2nd brush and adding acid to adjust (I went...

I am following the directions on this page for new plaster Start-up New Plaster - Trouble Free Pool. One of the bullet points is "after 48 hours start vacuuming with a vacuum that has brushes, not wheels" See screenshot.

    Pool refill

Is there some trick or special brushing motion that is used with vinyl liner vacuum's? I needed to go buy a vacuum with brushes instead of wheels and this thing sucks itself to the bottom of the pool. At 3400 rpm it was not moveable at all, as soon as the brushes touched the bottom it vacuumed...

    Pool refill

Surprisingly well. I typically run 10 - 15psi and even after 2 brushes per day I have never seen it go about 15psi. regardless, I pull it out everyday and spray it down to remove any plaster dust that might be there. I reread the instructions a few times before I realized that I should start the...

    Pool refill

Ok, today I hit the 72 hour mark, should I go ahead with the other chemicals (CYA & Chlorine)? The pH is still out of control, but I don't know how long it will take to satbilive the pH on new plaster. After my 2nd brush last night I added .5 gallon of acid, 2 hours later it tested at 6.8 - 7.0...

Does the pH go up as I am brushing the dust? I had it down to about 7.8ish then after 2nd brush of the day its back to 8 - 8.2.

    Pool refill

None of the guides mention CH, they say for the first 48 - 72 hours focus on getting pH and TA under control and brush twice a day to loosen plaster dust. Then after 72 hours to start bring CYA up, then FC. I haven't been testing for CH, should I start?

2nd test of the day after 2nd brush. TA = 190, pH = 8. The app says that to bring down TA I need to get the pH to 7 - 7.2 then aerate, does that just mean to run the pump?

    Pool refill

Ok, she is filled. Took about 20 hours. Brushed it once so far, will brush a 2nd time tonight. First readings are TA = 210 & Ph is atleast 8.2, it looked to be higher, but that is as high as the chart went. I added 23oz of pre-diluted muriatic acid, per the PoolMath app.

I have to give credit to the wife too, she picked it. I knew I wanted something blue to enhance the water color, but the rest was on her. I cant wait to see how it looks once we fill it.
