    Great. I’ll do that. Thanks!

    Persistent cloudy/hazy water. Passed OCLT

Thank you for the quick reply! Crud, my signature wasn’t updated. I thought it was 🤦‍♂️ Must not have hit save. Long story short, I have a cartridge filter now: Pentair Clean&Clear+ (CCP420; Cartridge). I’ve only ever had a sand filter before this, so that’s part of why I’m puzzled.

    Persistent cloudy/hazy water. Passed OCLT

Opened the pool a few weeks ago. Slammed and scrubbed thoroughly. Successfully passed the OCLT test multiple days in a row at SLAM levels. Scrubbed again. Balanced all chemicals and brought the FC to normal levels. The water continues to be hazy after a week of 24/7 pump running. I performed...

Pool slide lost pressure after new superflo was installed

…and does that location of that valve make a difference? Would it get more pressure if I moved it?

Pool slide lost pressure after new superflo was installed

Thanks. I was thinking along the same lines. How much is a booster pump? Is there anything cheap or energy friendly I could run?

Pool slide lost pressure after new superflo was installed

Jim, yes it was single. No I didn’t expect that. As you can see from my OP, I at least expected when I ran the VS pump full speed it would at least push enough water to make it up the slide hose vertical climb. Why do you ask? Any suggestions?

Pool slide lost pressure after new superflo was installed

Yes, thanks. Yup, it was off in the photo. Do these photos work?

Pool slide lost pressure after new superflo was installed

We installed a new pump and filter. This required re-plumbing as well. The pump is no longer putting out enough pressure to move water up the slide line. Previously, my Hayward one and a half horsepower pump put out plenty of pressure for the slide. Photos attached. The green line is the slide...

Have to replace. Sand vs. Cartridge

Thanks much for the response. I will be switching to a variable speed pump, and I'm excited about that. I am a bit worried about our cottonwood issues. The skimmer socks catch quite a bit of it, but not all...I wonder if that would be a problem. Thanks again.

Have to replace. Sand vs. Cartridge

My Hayward S200 sand filter is dead (Big crack). I've read a lot of forum posts and watched some videos, but just wanting to double check with my specific info in mind: I live in Minnesota. We're open, at most, 5 months. There is a lot of pollen, significant cottonwood cotton. Lots of leaves...

Motor Noise - Help Identifying Sound

Well… it’s just about closing season here. I might just take it apart and see if there are any obvious debris issues. Anything else to look out for? Any other ideas of what it could be that I should look for? And if it is the bearings and they don’t make sense to replace, think I should just...

Motor Noise - Help Identifying Sound

Darn. Are bearings replaceable? Think the motor can be repaired? This motor is only two years old.

Motor Noise - Help Identifying Sound

I can’t see underneath at the moment. But…It’s wet to the touch down there, and I do see some calcium/mineral build up around the seal. It’s been wet here, so maybe that’s rain that hasn’t yet dried out under the motor, but that seems unlikely. If the seal is the culprit, will I need a whole...

Motor Noise - Help Identifying Sound

Hi all, I woke up to the motor making a noise. Almost a screeching sound. It’s done this once or twice, but only recently. Turning it on/off seemed to resolve the problem. The noise started upon restart, but then seemed to go away shortly after. If I didn’t know any better, it’s almost like it...

    Warrior SE - Power usage?

Ben, just to confirm (new to all these numbers) are you saying the PB4 uses 1.55kW per one hour of use? So 3.1kWh for two hours? Or 3.1kW per hour? Feel like this is a pretty dumb q... 😆

    Warrior SE - Power usage?

Wait...I want it to pay for itself, but I don’t see that happening for a long time. Maybe my math is wrong...? I have a $699 unit paying for itself in 10 years. I’m estimating running the Polaris and the robot 2 hours per day, which is probably high. Here in Minneapolis the pool is only open...

First opening as a not-total-newbie. Chemical advice...

I've owned this pool for 1.5 years. This is my first opening where I feel like I have a decent handle on things. Mid-summer last year I started the Trouble Free methods and bought a proper test kit. I've learned a lot. I closed the pool well, and opened to a pretty darn clean pool! It had a fair...

    Warrior SE - Power usage?

Thanks so much, Ben. That’s really helpful! Even though the cost savings is significant, in Minnesota we're only running the pool for about 4 months out of the year so it'd take along time to recoup the costs. But, we're working on being a solar net producer, so part of this question is coming...

    Warrior SE - Power usage?

Well Jim, I don’t know what I don’t know... I have a Polaris that may be seeing it’s last season. I borrowed a robot from a friend and liked it as a cleaner. I’m doing my best to buy things that use electricity and have low energy consumption. So, my next thought was to compare energy...

    Warrior SE - Power usage?

Ben, I’m trying to do the exact same math. What did you figure out? Was there a significant difference in energy usage on average?

Does water return to pink after time when testing FC?

After I add the R-0871, and the water becomes clear, I have noticed that - if the water is left in the vile - after a minute or two the water will once again return to pink. Is that normal? Or does that mean that I am doing something wrong? I’m using the TFP test kit and the Taylor speedstir...

Algae, stairs, and is some algae ok?

I had some algae grow recently. I kicked butt my first summer with this pool, then I wasn’t able to stay on top of it for a bit and some algae began. 😞 So I SLAMmed, and after a week of removing light enclosures, scrubbing everything, removing skimmer flaps, scrubbing stairs, etc. I passed the...

OCLT affected by cold air/warm water?

Well I finally found something - not sure if it's the only culprit. We had a crack form on our stairs this year. As a temporary fix, I used vinyl patches and glue. It's held for the summer, and my plan was to repair the crack permanently in the spring - it's the second from top step so the...
