Update #2 - 13 hours with pump off, pool lost over 1/2 inch. I realize there is a leak, but why would the leak that had been present in the past stop leaking for nearly 5 months and then start back up again?

High CYA levels led me to this site and I am thankful for finding it. Now I am switching to liquid chlorine, but wondering cost wise, liquid chlorine vs the stabilized tabs. Any educated estimates?
