    Pool leaking at buddy seat

Hi we noticed in Tuesday that our pool is leaking. This is not our first leak so we’re able to quickly narrow it down to the buddy seat. With the previous leak the due was clearing spiraling away, this time it’s slower ( water level dropping less rapidly) the dye is gathering at the edge as...

    SWG stopped .....again

So now it's showing to be working - could a simple turn off turn on be the fix?? It had stopped generating so if it's now showing as generating should I trust the reading? Previous experience tells me if the box says its generating then it is....

    SWG stopped .....again

I think this covers all the questions When off- 2300ppm salt 89f 25.8 volt 0.00 Amp 64% generating 0000 instant Back to auto- 2300 89f 23.3 volt -3.83amp 2400ppm instant salinity I don't have box & serial number pool side Did drop test 3200pp.

    SWG stopped .....again

It has a screen to show salt level currently this shows "SLo" salt low. And when I scroll through to the instant salinity it shows 0000

    SWG stopped .....again

Hi Two weeks ago I got a low salt message on my SWG and no chlorine production. I did a test confirmed salt level was fine. I then took the generator apart to clean the cell - I did acid wash 1pt muriaric acid 4pt water (I did not see any bubbles?) Put it all back together and everything was...

to use or not to use: Natural Chemistry Phosfree

Thank you - I thought there was no "magic ingredient" to keep algae away. Just FC and paying attention to the pool; regular scrubbing.

to use or not to use: Natural Chemistry Phosfree

This season I've been doing so well for not getting algae; but recently we have had some summer storms and low the bottom was green. I've done my shock and passed OFCT so all back on track. I was chatting a colleague and he has recommended the us of: Natural Chemistry Phosfree My question is...

    TA vs pH

HI We just a tonne of rain & everything went off balance got diluted so now my pool is cloud and I'm preparing to shock. We've learned over the years to get the pH right before going into shock. So my numbers are: CYA 45 (will increase post SLAM) FC ~6 (needs to increase but see question) pH 7.4...

    Is it generating?

Typo - Its raining not training... The readings on the box show the cell to be generating - Amp & volts in correct range. I'm just not sure we're seeing the expected fc increase

    Is it generating?

We've just opened our pool for the season came off slam 2 days ago so swg was turned on. We had low salt reading and non generating alert. Today we confirmed salt (drop test 3000ppm) and jet washed generator so for last 7hrs it's been running at 80%. I just tested at 4ppm fc but was anticipating...

Can't remove steps to close pool

Hi All its the end of the season in Jersey so we're closing our pool. This is our first full season as a saltwater pool which has been great from a pool chemistry perspective however we have now come to take the metal steps out of the concrete pool surrounded and they stuck fast due to...

    Getting percentage generation right

Thank you all for your advice I've set my filter to 24 hours at a 2100 rpm - a significant reduction from 3200! I'll monitor and see about reducing further once I'm comfortable.....

    Getting percentage generation right

Interesting suggestion. I have it on full power for 8hrs then off. I guess i could try full power for say 4hrs to get a good turn over then have it tick away at a lower rpm (right units?) for another 20hrs. There by maintaining steady generation. Is 50% a "reasonable" level? For some reason I...

    Getting percentage generation right

HI We have Crystal Pure 3.0, 40K gallon. My filter is set for 8hrs on 4hrs off, 8 on 4 off is this is good cycle? Is a dual cycle of longer on during daylight and off at night a better set up? We are currently set ~50% thinking this should replenish my ~4ppm daily loss over the 16hrs. Thank you

    Getting percentage generation right

Hi This is our second season with a SWG. We're 4 weeks into this season I use the pool math app to set & adjust my SWG. Does the run time & percentage numbers take into account natural daily loss? What is typical daily loss? Per the app to replace 4ppm i need to run my generator for 20hrs at 50%...

    testing at high FC

Hi we're mid slam so have our FC high - 25-30ppm. I put a range because my husband has done three tests and got three different results. Is this a known issue with high FC? Should we err to the lower number or higher? We've been using a syringe to get exactly 10ml sample and are using the proper...

Have I got an algae issue?

Thanks how frequently should we shocking / slamming the pool? Should it be part of regular maintenance or by exception only when things go off line?

Have I got an algae issue?

HI Our pool has been open for the season for about 4 weeks now. First 3 weeks water crystal clear but for the last few days I've noticed a slight haze to it. To the untrained eye its clear but my husband and I can tell its cloudy (mildly cloudy). We have a SWG, our levels this morning were: FC...

    Looking for a Robot cleaner

Hi TFP forum We've just got our pool open for the season and are looking for a robotic cleaner. Can anyone recommend a cleaner that is reliable (last more than 3 years), does a good job, is good value for money. Many thanks!

    What are we doing wrong?

Because of the recurring algae issue I'm nervous to take it higher as this increases the FC level needed for slam

    What are we doing wrong?

Sporadically, when we notice it needs it (realizing it should be a weekly activity at least). We use a flat head/plate with wheels on the end of a long pole which gets up solids. We have a vaccum head with a brush but have found the suction so strong it clings to the pool bottom and doesn't...

    What are we doing wrong?

Possible that previous SLAM did not fully solve this issue however we passed the overnight FC loss test, had zero CC and water was clear 1& 2 are options - we back wash the filter regular, but have never done a deep clean - also we switch from backwash to filter without the rinse step...

    What are we doing wrong?

We have a sand filter - I know nothing more than that off hand. The steps/stairs are molded plastic - solid - at the shallow end and stainless steel (I guess?) ladder at the deep end. The default setting on the pump was 4hr high speed, 4hrs medium speed, 8 hrs low speed, 8 hrs off. We thought...

    What are we doing wrong?

Hi We live in NJ so only have our pool open for ~3mth per year but during this time it causes us no end of head ache with the continual fight against algae. This year we replaced the liner (in ground vinyl ~29k gallons), Pump; Pureline variable speed and converted to SWG - again Pureline. We...
