    Advice from someone with experience

QUICK BACKGROUND = We've lived in our pool home for one-year and our levels are always spot-on. I check and adjust every M, W, & F. We've never shocked and never done more than add a little acid or alk increaser. Recently we've had some serious rain, and our FC zeroed out for a day. We've been...

Wife is freaking out. Storm run off

Beautiful set up, sorry mother nature hit you so hard. We had the same thing happen in Melbourne, FL. Looks like everyone here has you covered on how to clean up. Here's what I did after it happened to us, maybe this will help in the future. 1) I cut the tops off my channel drains. Now they...

    Pool light recommendations.

That hole looks a lot like the hole we had. We went with a Pentair Globrite LED. It was an easy install, and so-far-so-good for us. Here's a link. Amazon.com : Pentair 602054 Water Pool and Spa Globrite, 12V, 50 ft : Garden & Outdoor

Chunk under skimmer basket - tell me what you think.

Here's a nice clear pic of what I found UNDER my skimmer basket yesterday. I check my levels, brush, and empty the skimmer every Wednesday and Saturday. This wasn't there on Wed, at least I didn't notice it. It looks like a clump of my liner, but I can't find a missing chunk, and I don't see...

Mottling or a touch of brown algae

UPDATE: The contractor who resurfaced our pool back in October sent someone out to look at the "algae" and he confirmed that it is not algae at all. It is very light mottling. The brownish sandy stuff at the bottom is definitely dirt/pollen. I hope this helps someone else out there. For what...

Mottling or a touch of brown algae

I initially thought I had a light dusting of algae, but as I've researched more, I'm wondering if it is mottling in the new plaster. It's too light to capture in photos, but I will post updates as I look into it a little more in hopes that this thread might help someone else.

Mottling or a touch of brown algae

Hi, I got the 2005, but your question has me second guessing that choice. My current kit doesn't have a test for CYA, which is what pushed me to order a more complete kit.

Mottling or a touch of brown algae

Please scroll down for update. Hello, I joined the pool world and forum last July when we bought our house w/pool (see sig for details). We had it replastered, which took from July - October because of the high water table. Since completion in October, I brush and check the levels every...

A pool???? Us???? Not in a million years!

Hi! My wife and I are new to the forum and new to pool ownership. We never thought we would get it together enough to own a decent house, but we just bought a nice house with a pool. We're both very hands-on and not afraid of some trial-and-error to get this pool in shape. We're counting on...
