Before I buy A Liner, Some Questions

Dave/Kelly Wow thanks so much for the support. I did get a deal on foam coves, and wall foam ~$100 for the material, and the installer is charging $150 to install all foam. So not a big impact. BUT - I just got blind sided by a potential issue. My pool is a 15x31x52. Yeap 31' long. Not...

Before I buy A Liner, Some Questions

Dave, Thanks so much for the detailed explanation. I received my quote to repair the pool, and in the "customer responsibilities" I am to provide a 15x30x52 Unibead Liner. 1. How do I know which way they plan to install so I have the right parts? (I can reach out to the installer...

Kelly, Thanks! Yeah you helped me in my last thread. When I purchase the Unibead liner, do they come with everything I need to install? Thanks

Before I buy A Liner, Some Questions

I have a Cornelius / Capri pool the specs say 15x31x52, and I need to replace my liner and have some backfilling fixed (see a previous thread where my liner is sinking due to washout from poor backfilling ). I looked at my pool quote (from 2018) and it says "Pacific Diamond 15x30 Unibead...

Pool Floor "Sinking" and Liner "Shrinking"

Any recommendations on a 15x32x52 Unibead liner? Saw one that was 30mil thickness but $899. But I see others around $400. Can I also purchase the foam cove to make sure the installer does it right the next time? Again thanks so much for the help.

Pool Floor "Sinking" and Liner "Shrinking"

Kelly Thank so much for the explanation. I am not sure I have the installation instructions anymore, but I will dig through the "house" file cabinet LOL. Not sure you can answer this (as it maybe in the installation instructions) but should this cove go all the way around the pool...

Pool Floor "Sinking" and Liner "Shrinking"

Hmmm.....? As in when they laid the sand during the install, they made these "coves" in these areas? I can't say 100%, but from what I remember the sand was laid totally flat. Is that a thing? Do installers carve out "coves" in the sand? Maybe around the vertical supports? Well if they do...

Pool Floor "Sinking" and Liner "Shrinking"

Was hoping for advice on how to handle the below situation. Pool is a Capri Resin/Steel 15x31x52 with a Unibead52 liner (pretty sure I ordered the thickest liner available). Pool was installed in May 2018. Over the past couple years I've noticed a couple of areas where pool floor was sinking...

Oh My Gosh, There Has to be a Better Way.......

What it looked like 2 weekends ago: Here is what it looked like the other day after TFP help (thanks Marty)....as you can see, I still have some construction to finish..... I had 2 pumps going (the nearest one was running 24/7 and not filtering, and the main DE filter on the other end of...

Oh My Gosh, There Has to be a Better Way.......

Thanks Pabeader. When I test my FC i get my reading and move onto CC. I add some drops from another container and if it turns pink I have some CC. When I add the new drops my solution is a very very faint pink, and I can only add 1 drop of the 0871 (i think that's what it is) and my solution...

Oh My Gosh, There Has to be a Better Way.......

*****Update 8-1-2018***** Pool still crystal blue and beautiful. FC --- 6 (my targets will be 5-7 ppm when I get my CYA to 40, ok?) CC --- 0 (still at 0, is this a problem? Not sure how i can add more if I need to?) TA --- 110 CH --- pH --- 7.2 CYA. --- ~25 (I am still learning how to...

Oh My Gosh, There Has to be a Better Way.......

So I can stop paying a fortune for those 5 gallon buckets of chlorine tablets, and just check my FC each night and add bleach to stay at 5-7ppm FC? I do have a Mr Frog Chlorinator that the previous home owner had stored in the basement. I have never used it before, and not sure if it even...

Oh My Gosh, There Has to be a Better Way.......

Marty, we couldn't have done this without you and the members here on TFP. It was very scary and seemed overwhelming at first, but with you guiding us it was easy. I tried to update this thread as much as possible to help anyone else in the future who finds this thread in a search. This thread...

Marty, ****UPDATE @ 7:45****** FC --- 6.5 CC --- 0 TA --- 100 CH --- pH --- 7.2 (still reads 7.2 but i thought i read during SLAM this could be unreliable, but i tested anyway) CYA. --- 25? (the black dot started to disappear around 30, but if i turned the tube slightly i could see the black...

Oh My Gosh, There Has to be a Better Way.......

Ok Marty. I am sorry, but I am a little unclear about the "add enough for 4 ppm FC each time" part. When I left for work this morning, I took a reading and added enough bleach to keep the pool at 12 ppm. Am I supposed to be letting the FC come down now? (is my target 4ppm of FC now?)...

Oh My Gosh, There Has to be a Better Way.......

Marty, I checked every 2.5 hours my FC and kept my levels at 12 according to the pool math. The first couple times I checked my FC did drop quite a bit, (i.e. a drop from 12 to 4, another drop from 12 to 8). But before going to bed last night my FC was at 10, so i added what Pool math said to...

HOLE_E_COW Marty, after 1 hour my pool is looking BLUE! I went to Aldi's to buy 6 more gallons of bleach, and I come back and go out to "squeeze my socks" and I see the pool.....WOW. 3:30 EST time, will be 2 hours since adding the bleach and CYA. I will take my readings then. I take...

Thanks Marty, New TA reading: FC --- 0 CC --- 0 TA --- 120 (was at 90 earlier this morning) CH --- pH --- 7.2 (just checked, dead on 7.2) CYA. --- 0 So I have two socks with 21oz each of CYA that Pmath recommends for a target of 30ppm. For Free Chlorine Pmath recommends 65oz of bleach...

Became a Bronze supporter, it's the least I can for all the help. Testing PH after 30 minutes, will that give an accurate reading? Will the MA continue to lower even after 30 minutes? Thanks - - - Updated - - - **** no bronze banner lol.....it is because I didn't check the "share my email"...

Ok getting my sock ready again now...lol. Ok, just a few minutes between acid and bleach, thanks. Ok, will go buy more bleach lol.... Marty, full disclosure.....I just checked my PH....it's 8.2. I didn't even add as much as the Pool math said....should I fix that with MA first (target...

Oh My Gosh, There Has to be a Better Way.......

Marty, thank you sir. I will begin adding powder CYA not to bring it up to 30 ppm. I will then wait ~30 minutes to add bleach. I just came back from Aldi's and bought some 6% bleach (3 gallons)......is bleach ok to use? And it's ok to start adding them both.....as long as I wait 10 minutes...
