Black stains just keep getting worse

Interesting. I actually thought about taking some coarse sandpaper to the stains to see what happens.

Black stains just keep getting worse

I’ve had it in alignment with the chart or much higher since I cleaned these stains last time. That said, I’m gonna let these soak for another day or two and then run the FC levels at like 20 for a few weeks to cook these stains.

Black stains just keep getting worse

Plaster was new in 2017 so about five and a half years. I want to believe it’s algae but never once been able to get a color off these stains and everything I read says I should get green or black residue. I am afraid it will keep occurring which is really disappointing. I had a pool guy come by...

Black stains just keep getting worse

So I drained the water down to the shelf again to expose some of the stains and treat them again. After soaking in LC all day yesterday the stains are disappearing again. I cannot get any residue or anything when scraping at these

Black stains just keep getting worse

Thanks.. I am pretty positive it’s not algae…it doesn’t really look like all the pictures I see online and I can’t pick at It with a brush, a pick, a knife, nothing. it just slowly gets darker over time. It’s the exact same pattern over and over.

Black stains just keep getting worse

So I am at a complete loss now… acid does nothing to these stains and chlorine takes them away but they slowly come back In all the same places. Since the end of December I have maintained my chems as follows FC 8-13 PH 7.4-7.8 TA 80-100 CH 500-550 CYA 80-90 my most recent log this morning was...

Anyone have the dimensions of the smart stir?

Thanks all, I actually accidentally bought the 2006c kit when I first started so I’m hoping I can modify my case after I remove the handful of reagents I don’t use

Anyone have the dimensions of the smart stir?

Thanks, I actually was referring to the smart stir, I didn’t even realize Taylor had one also. I see there is a smart stir on clearance on the tf test kits site https://tftestkits.net/Blue-Smart-Stir-ON-CLEARANCE-p133.html I think even if I have to modify the case to work I may do that. There...

Black stains just keep getting worse

So bad news… the stains are coming back. I have been brushing daily, and have kept the chlorine above 9FC and most of the time it was much higher. it seems to be the same pattern….. it’s not random

Southeast Florida system installer recommendations and advice

Like I said above it’s so much better. As far as letting water out, I do that all the time and I literally drain It right into my grass and see no damage. Also, I don’t see how that could be any worse than draining a typical chlorine pool. Keep in mind, the salt levels are very low, it’s nothing...

Southeast Florida system installer recommendations and advice

So I am a pool rookie but my SWG broke a couple months ago after five years and I’ve been doing the chlorine and tabs and man is it a pain compared to the SWG. I did the math, and given the current price of chlorine it’s practically break even assuming I need a new one every five years. The...

Any feedback on the Florida Sunseeker lights?

Thanks. I’m an engineer and all too familiar with the requirements of these labs and the markings applied to the devices. If this company paid the thousands of dollars to get certified they would for sure have the marking on the device, which to me means they probably just paid some company down...

Any feedback on the Florida Sunseeker lights?

So it seems like the five year mark is where everything in a pool starts to fail.. needless to say one of my pentair globrites isn’t working. I’ve been reading all night and it seems like their reliability is poor, honestly I’ve only used the lights maybe five times in five years. That said, I...

Black stains just keep getting worse

The FC got so high because I poured direct chlorine on the stains and obviously all ran into the pool.. plus the water level is lower so it just made it worse.

Black stains just keep getting worse

Well.. it definitely seems to be working. I have also downloaded the app and will use that for tracking. That’s good advice. I will also maintain my chlorine much higher than I was. That said, I am at an impasse now. I ran my numbers this morning FC 46 PH > 8 TA 120 I added acid to bring my...
