The problem is that the rebar is not embedded enough in the gunite/ concrete shell. Its possible that they did not shoot enough gunite over the bottom to fully cover and encase the rebar. Even if your plaster was really thick the plaster would suck out the rust from the concrete shell... So...

And a proper replaster should remove 100 percent of the existing plaster to getdown to all hard gunite/concrete shell. Any cracks or problems with the shell should be repaired, then it get washed down, a bond coat and then the new plaster. Calcuim nodules are from the OLD plaster coming...

Get a tape measure and check for square. Measure from corner of the pool to corner of the deck on each side. Also do a X measure from corner to corner. If it is not square someone screwed up. If its the concrete pad I would just have the paver company cut the edge straight with a concrete saw...

Just getting back on this... unfortunately this pool does not have Screenlogic. Just the power box and cell. Works on Shock Mode where all lights blink but does not show any LED's on basic inputs ie 20,40,60 etc. Going to go back out today and reset the system again and call Pentair.
