Crazy Temps; Should I Try to Lower Water?

I don't have any tiles at the top of my coping =) I was just mainly worried about water getting behind the liner and freezing / expanding causing the liner to pop out or causing issues to the pool walls. Not even sure if those issues are legit or now. I'm prob just buggin out.

Crazy Temps; Should I Try to Lower Water?

Thanks for the info! I'm still kinda bugging out about it. 65 degrees today and still frozen. Ice is basically even with the very top of the pool at the coping.... and we're getting a foot of snow Friday. Insane weather. So I should just let it ride even if it completely goes over the coping...

Crazy Temps; Should I Try to Lower Water?

Moved from HERE Bumping this thread since I'm in the same boat. Live in MA. Been crazy rainy here this winter with some wildly fluctuating temps and snow / snow melt. When I closed and winterized my pool in October, I drained 16 inches below top of pool since that's what Loop-Loc recommended...

    Dolphin Saturn Troubleshooting

Happy Summer, Ya'll! I've had a Dolphin Saturn Pool Robot for 3 summers now and I absolutely LOVE it. Literally one of the best purchases I've ever made. However, as of last night, I've been running into issues with it. I started it last night and let it go until I woke up this morning. I...

Constant High Pressure in Hayward Sand Filter

Interesting! I have read Pool School in the past. Got basically all of my pool knowledge from it. However, I must have missed the Deep Cleaning part! I'm gonna give this a whirl this weekend. Thanks! Another thing I've been noticing, Is after I run the system in recalculation mode for over 20...

Constant High Pressure in Hayward Sand Filter

I have not. What does it entail? Is it just a chemical treatment to the sand?

Constant High Pressure in Hayward Sand Filter

Yes, I ran the OCLT a few times after the opening SLAM and it checks out. I really do not think my chemistry is to blame.

Constant High Pressure in Hayward Sand Filter

I'm beginning to think the same. Although, it clearly filters the water well, since the water is crystal clear. And it clearly backlashes and rinses fine. But, the handle on the multi port is hard to move and like I said in my original post, it's making a weird crackling noise. I'm so confused lol.

Constant High Pressure in Hayward Sand Filter

Happy Summer, ya'll! Having a little bit of an issue with constant pressure buildup in my Hayward sand filter. Here's what's happening: - Water chemistry is good. pH 7.4, FC 5, CC 0, CYA 40, CH 210, TA 85. 25,000 gallon in ground pool. Hayward 1 HP pump. Water is crystal clear and the water...

Hayward Sand filter pressure always high unless in "recirculate" mode

No. I have no used any floc. How can I go about SLAMing the pool? Any good guides? I have an in-ground, 20X45, 20,000 gallon pool.

Hayward Sand filter pressure always high unless in "recirculate" mode

MY FC is around 4 because I shocked the pool last evening. My pH is 7.5. My Alkalinity is 90. My CYA is registering at 55 on my water kit, but no showing up on my test strips for some reason.

Hayward Sand filter pressure always high unless in "recirculate" mode

I’m using a Taylor Technologies K-2005 Compete Test Kit to check my chemistry. Sometimes I use Leslie’s test strips as well. I did have a decent algae bloom in my water but I shocked the water and it seemed to kill 95% of it. I then vacuumed in filter setting to get rid of it. But, I’ve done a...

Hayward Sand filter pressure always high unless in "recirculate" mode

As the title says! My Hayward sand filter pressure is always high. Even after multiple 3 min backwashes / 1 min rinses. Pressure goes from 15-25 within a few hours and the returns are super weak. However, when I run my filter on "recirculate", the pressure goes back to 10 and my return jets are...

What is this brownish dust at the bottom of my clear pool?

Bumping an old thread. This EXACT same thing is happening to me! I've changed my sand, laterals, back washed, vacuumed to waste. You name it, I've tried it. This stuff keeps coming back. How did you guys solve this?!

Sand getting in pool - Not broken laterals or bad sand.

I was doing some reading and someone said it may be the spider gasket on my multi-port valve. My sand filters does make some noise when it runs. Almost sounds like air is trying to escape or something is rattling inside the valve. Could this cause all that sand to get in the pool??

Sand getting in pool - Not broken laterals or bad sand.

Hey all! I'm new to this forum and I need some help. My wife and I purchased a home back in December that had (and still does) a 20,000 gallon in ground pool. I had to put in a new Hayward 1 HP pump in because the old one was shot. Anyway, let me get to the point. We keep getting sand on the...
