    Intex pump failer?

If you don't mind, what day of the week and time of day did you call? I just got off the phone with customer service about a SWCG that won't generate chlorine despite it running through the cycle. I was told my salt was low. That isn't what the salt test says and I don't get a low salt error...

That adapter that came with my deluxe skimmer fits over the grill without any problem.

Installing a fountain in a Intex Ultra Frame

After looking at the picture again, I see it is 1-1/2" PVC you need to connect to. The Intex adapter and one of these http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R ... reId=10051 should do the trick, cheap and easy.

Installing a fountain in a Intex Ultra Frame

I think the gray grill will have to go. Since it is not in the pool yet, you can saw it off with a hacksaw or a regular hand saw. You could also use a hole saw to cut a big hole in the middle. If memory serves me correctly you can get a decent fit with a 1-1/4" slip coupling with a little...

New to Forums - Vetran Pool Owner with Intex Questions

If you just bought the SWCG last year, it should still be under warranty. If you have your receipt, call Intex to have it replaced. Even if you have a new one, you can use the replacement as a backup or sell it.

    Intex Threaded Strainer Connectors

My pool is a 2009 Intex 18’x48” metal frame that came with the old through-the-wall threaded connector without the grated strainer. Last summer I bought an Intex sand filter/pump combo and it came with the new threaded strainer connectors with the grate pictured below. This year when I hooked...

    vaccuum adaptation?

If you have the Intex skimmer, a 1.5" vacuum hose should fit nicely over the adapter that attaches the skimmer hose to the through-the-wall adapter. A 1.25" vac hose with a soft cuff can also be pressed inside it. Otherwise, there are lots of creative ways.

    Drain or Shock mini swamp?

I decided to shock it. Mid way through the process I was really regretting my decision. It went from green to cloudy quickly, but progress really slowed down after that. There were several days where I couldn't tell any progress at all. If I had it to do over, I would drain it. All is well...

    Intex CS8110 Salt sensor question

If it is still under warranty and you have a receipt, call Intex for a replacement. If it is out of warranty or you just want to fix it, here is what I would try in order: 1. Clean the cell with vinegar. 2. Flip over the big plug that powers the cell (Reverse polarity). 3. Open the case and...

    Drain or Shock mini swamp?

I really can't decide whether to drain or shock. Intex round 18' x 48" pool. Pool in kept up year round and winterized like a regular above ground pool. Last year water was as clean as could be at opening. This year when I pulled the cover off it was already green. It is about half full and...

    Modifications to My Summer Escapes.

Wow, that is a great deal, especially for a location that far south where there is still quite a bit of summer left. Did you buy one and if so, are you putting it up this year or waiting until next year?

    Intex Pool Sinking

Here is a picture of someone's method for jacking up the pool http://www.levelgroundpool.com/images/jack-up-pool.JPG. It looks unstable to me. Maybe it would be more stable if you nailed the wooden pieces together like a small ladder and maybe even used two jacks, one on each side.

    Adding sand filter to pool!

As for the salt, any salt labeled as pool salt or water softener salt should be fine. I live just north of Nashville and I followed normal winterizing procedures for an above ground pool last winter without any problems. I suspect you would most likely be safe in Atlanta if you properly close...

    "intex nuts"

While I can't say for sure, I think that is the larger nut that the SWG screen fits inside. If so, it would be too big.

My Intex sand filter pump giving me trouble.

Opening the little drain plug at the bottom should relieve the pressure and make it easier to turn the basket lid. Is there water to the top of the basket? I had to loosen the clear top of the basket to bleed the air out. If you open the drain where you backwash, will water flow out? It...

Intex 2500 pump set up ideas????????

You could make it work either way. The ones I have seen just use one pump. The original outlet can be used for vacuuming. If you decide to go with two pumps, how do you plan to do the return; over the wall, cut a new hole or something else?

Free Intex saltwater system ( Now $50 )

Re: Free Intex saltwater system Finally got around to installing the sand filter/pump combo and my first impression is that there is no way it is only moving 100 gph more than my old 1500 gph Intex pump. The difference was like night and day. Vacuuming was so much faster and easier. How can...

    Intex Cooling Wall/Fountain

Based on other posts I have read, the 2500 gph pump may not be enough to run them both at the same time. You will need to regulate the flow, most likely with ball valves, to balance the amount flowing each way. Do you have a wider view photo? I'm having trouble figuring out the how everything...

    Intex SWG Low Flow Problem

Another place that clogs and reduces flow is the metal screen inside the large two-piece nut on the SWG. I usually clean that when I clean the filter.

Re: Free Intex saltwater system My filter is shipping today via FedEx Home Delivery and the estimated delivery is tomorrow. I'm only about 4 hours from the main FedEx terminal in Memphis, but that is really fast. The Wal-Mart HQ is in Arkansas, so I'm guessing it is shipping from a...

3 days frustration with dirt on pool bottom

Putting a knee high stocking or biodiesel filter bag over the return can catch a lot of the finer stuff that the filter can't. Another thing I do is detach a hose and vacuum to waste. That gets it out of the pool for good and doesn't lose as much water as you would think.

Intex cartridge vs. Sand filters-size particle removed??

This tread has me a little confused. I’m not very good at science, so it would be great if someone could help me understand. Based on a mountain of anecdotal evidence it seems that the Intex sand filters do a vastly superior job to the Intex cartridge filters with comparable flow rates. My...

Vacuuming with an Intex Sand Filter

One more thing. As is the case with everything Intex, the pole is not standard size (at least mine isn't). So you will need a new pole or do some modifications to make a standard vac head work with the Intex pole.

Vacuuming with an Intex Sand Filter

If you have the Intex skimmer, a 1.5" vacuum hose should fit nicely over the adapter that attaches the skimmer hose to the through-the-wall adapter. It is the adapter in the 5th picture in docchop1's post above. A 1.25" vac hose with a soft cuff can also be pressed inside it.

Re: Free Intex saltwater system I want to thank you for posting this. It was really nice of you to do that. It is tempting to buy more to resell at this price, but I will resist the temptation for now. I would feel guilty if I did that and they sold out before others here could buy them...
