    Easytouch no longer controlling Intelliflo

Let me know if you have questions. - yeah, the extension board was for the indoor control panel and the screenlogic controllers... sorry, been a few years since I hooked it up. :)

    CYA and low level testing

I spent the better part of 3 years researching, learning, testing, retesting and trial an error how to get this all to work CYA and TDS really impact ORP. Reducing what you put in the water, and how you "condition" or "stabilize" both have a big impact. There is no "set it here and forget...

typo - .8 not .08. 4 drops of dpd reagent. Thanks for catching that - I will edit the post. :)

    CYA and low level testing

3~3.2ppm of FC when I open the cover. Keeping FC in the neighborhood of 3ppm, and CYA of 3 (or so) gives my FC a halflife of about 4 hours in full sun. That means, when i start at 3.2, after four hours my FC is 1.6, after four more hours, my FC is .8. This isn't just theoretical, this is...

    CYA and low level testing

Thanks Tex - The higher CYA has more of an impact on ORP which is what the intellichem uses to turn on the SWCG. The more CYA, the lower the ORP even though FC can be super high. CYA of 20 triggered teh INtellichem to keep FC about 4.6ppm within an orp of 680, and CYA @30 kept the ORP under...

    CYA and low level testing

I have an autocover on my pool as well as an intellichem controller for PH and the SWG. ORP readings get jacked when CYA is higher than needed- which keeps the SWG making FC when not needed. With the autocover, the pool is treated mostly like an "indoor" pool as it is covered a lot of the time...

    CYA and low level testing

Does anybody know of a way to test CYA below 10ppm? The lowest visual test tube I can find is 20ppm. Thanks, Tim

Intellichem - and yup orp issue

thanks for the tips...keep them coming. "When you open the cover, the ORP voltage drops because the chlorine is destroyed by UV light" I thought so too, but this happens at night as well with no sun and only a crescent moon. The ORB drop is consistent and predicable day or night. The probe...

Intellichem - and yup orp issue

I think we should have a sub forum for these users seeing as how small of a subset and niche product it is and the unique set of problems is has.

Intellichem - and yup orp issue

Thanks for your input. The PH of 7.29 is from the probe at the time I looked at it and the results of the probe have been very, very contestant with the test kit taken across the better part of a month. Between 7.2 and 7.4 has been my range so I have a very high degree in confidence that PH is...

Intellichem - and yup orp issue

Still working through this and about to give up and toss this $1200 thing out . I have had to shock my pool twice now in the last month due to cloudy water which is very, very rare for me. My FC is between 1 and 3 consistently with CYA @15~18 (all other chems in range) and CC is zero. The...

    Outdoor Lamppost Lighting

No, it can be line voltage that far away (and triggered of an aux on your automation panel if you have one). I think it's 5'..or maybe 8'. Read up on section 680 of the NEC for the actual specs.

Water keeps building up behind liner

Sounds like what is called a floating liner - caused by ground water exerting more pressure on the pool than the pool is putting on the ground. Not much you can do unless you have a sump installed under or around your pool. My PB recommended a sump on ours during construction and we went...

So - I have the Intillichem hooked up. Brand new unit and probes. PH management functionality is perfect. ORP is showing 520ish with perfectly balanced (ideal -.08 LSI). My numbers FC =2.8 CC = 0 PH=7.29 CH =320 Alk=110 CYA=18 NaCL=3800 I have read a bunch of posts just saying to use...
