QUICK advice on leveling for AG Pool (Intex for now)

There are some on here that have done this with success. However, most of the time you will hear about a bad experience. Two things come to mind to me about your situation. 1. It is a seasonal pool that will be coming down in the fall. 2. He has much bigger and better equipment to do the...

My wife installed an 18-foot Intex pool on a slope !!!

The pool (18' X 52") holds 7600+ gallons of water. That's 63,000 lbs. of water. I wouldn't want that on my conscious if it collapsed on someone.

    Crack in step

If they are fiberglass, they can be fixed. I am a home builder and I saw a plumber drop a running saw in a new bathtub. It ran flopping around in the tub for a few seconds before they got it unplugged. The plumber had a bathtub repair company (From the yellow pages) come in and they repaired...

    Leveling Frustration!!!

Sorry that you are having trouble. However, you need to find the lowest point and dig everything else down to that level. You will never get it level by adding dirt. Even if you get it close, the first time it rains it is going to wash the added soil away and you will be back where you...

when to install skimmer on fresh build?

I waited until the water was just below the return. That way you know that the liner has stretched all it is going to. I would be excited to! Do you have your equipment pad ready yet? That is something that you could work on in the mean time. Are you hard plumbing? You could work on that...

    Ph Level

I have two quick questions. While water testing a minute ago, I found my PH was in the 8.2 range. 1st Question: Would my teenage daughter and her friend covered in sunblock or tanning lotion raise PH? 2nd Question: Does Muriatic Acid go bad or weaken? I have had some since last year and it...

    pool liner question

drg, You are right on target. I used 1" under my pool on concrete and my beaded liner did just fine. No wrinkles at all. You can figure that 2 inches of sand is going to compact down to 1.5" or less. So your 1.5" foam will work great. You will like the feel of the foam on the bottom when...

    RIBBBBBEEETTTTTT!

I live in NC as well. About a month or so ago the tree frogs nearly took over our pool. How does something so small make that much noise. Anyway, I wait until dark and go out armed with a flashlight and a jar. Just shine the light in their eyes and put the jar over them. Then slide the lid...

Is it possible to gage the....

Try this... Get a five gallon bucket and have someone hold your vac. hose over your return. Be sure that you are getting 100% of the flow from the return. Then, with a stop watch, time how long it takes to fill the bucket. Example, If it takes 10 seconds to fill the bucket, your pump is...

    Would this work?

I was just reading a thread on Pool Chillers. I know that a hole in the ground is much cooler than air temp. (My basement stays at least 15 degrees cooler) Has anyone ever dug a hole in the ground several feet deep and coiled water lines in it and covered it up to cool their pool?

Above Ground Pool Light - Nitelighter?

Does anyone have any experience with the Nitelighter 100w light? Found one on Ebay in the $100 range. We have a 24' X 52" pool. Or, is there another brand I should look at? Any do's or don'ts? Thanks, Tim

    5 for $5

We have Lowes Foods here as well. Not a bad deal but too many jugs to deal with. Walmart's 182oz value bleach is a little better deal for me. However, I do like to keep a few of the 60oz. jugs around for when we are gone. It is easier to have someone to stop by and just empty one in our pool...

    Pool Rover Jr. Question

One thing that really upsets me about the non-adjustable timer is that Aqua Product's own website states that the Pool Rover Jr. comes with a "0 - 60 second timer". This is listed under Residential - Pool Rover Jr. - Compare Model. I had time this morning to watch the Rover in action. Some...

Found a kitten in my skimmer

A few years ago when we uncovered our boat from storage we found two kittens in it. One was a little girl and the other a boy. The male kitten had no tail. As a result, they were named, Rascal and Flats.

    Pool Rover Jr. Question

I just bought a Pool Rover Jr. I was very excited when it arrived and couldn't wait to put it to work. My model is the "Residential Jet" which is the Rover Jr. with a Pre-Set timer in the transformer. The instructions says that the built in timer should be good for most pools. The...

    BIRDS!!

"I think the golfers would mind having to duck". It is acceptable golf ediquitte to take a shot as long as you yell "four" after you pull the trigger. :o A blow-up owl might help keep them away. We have local farmers that use them to on the hay sheds to keep birds from nesting in their hay.

I'm in the same boat. Or, maybe I'm a little lazy... Anyway, I just ordered a new Pool Rover Jr. off of Ebay. It was $268.00 with free shipping. I am looking forward to getting it later in the week. All the reviews that I've read on it were positive. Look at it like I did, with all of...

Please Help! Frogs in the Pool!

Frog Update! I have put 4 of them on the Federal Witness Protection Program. They were relocated about 3 miles away and given new names. I have removed 2 from the skimmer that were dead. We have not had a frog in the pool for 4 nights now. However, we have had temps in the 90's which might...

    Wall foam

Some of the foam padding that goes under floating laminate flooring is the same as wall foam. You should be able to find it at Lowes or Home Depot. The biggest issue you will have is the width. I think most of it is only 36"s or so. I hope this helps.

Please Help! Frogs in the Pool!

Frogs have invaded my pool! Before I pulled off the cover, the cover had some water in it that was green. A couple of frogs had found it but I did not think anything about it because I thought once the cover was off, that water would have chlorine in it so they would leave. Boy was I wrong...

    Draining Rain Water

Bama, that is right on target with what I was thinking. I don't have a waste but I was thinking of adding a fitting and pipe where it can run off without pooling. Do you think 1" would do or should it be larger? Also, do you think that I might need a Tee off of the fitting turned up and down...

    Draining Rain Water

I've read somewhere that some AG pool owners drill a hole in their skimmer just above the ideal water level. So, when the water rises, it simply runs out the hole. I have drained nearly 4 inches of extra water in 2 days. It seems like a simple fix but maybe I'm not seeing any potential...

Suggestion's on re-due of my pool!!!!

I did a DIY project this year with our new pool. I went all out. I poured 7 yards of concrete and used 1" Dow blue foam board between the cement and liner. I also used foam cove. NO SAND! NO WRINKLES! Pool bottom feels like you are wearing flip-flops. It cost an extra $1000. I also live...
