    TA at zero?

I do not want to do that again. I have a vinyl liner which means I have to do the tarp method. id rather spend more in chemicals than drain the pool.

    TA at zero?

Hello, I just received my tf-100 kit and testing my water for the first time this season. TA wouldn’t even register at 0.After adding the r008 the water was red and wouldn’t turn green. My ph has been low 6.5ish, so I expected my alk to be off, but not at zero. is this possible? Should I add...

Chlorine granulade this year and testing kit.

I haven't testing since the end of last year and I'm looking for, but can't find the spreadsheet I used to track last year's results. I definitely don't want to raise my CYA as I fought that battle 2 years ago. Need to research the effect of increasing Calcium.

Chlorine granulade this year and testing kit.

Thank you! Is there a form of granular chlorine that won't raise my CYA? Unless I'm mistaken no one will ship liquid chlorine. Right?

Chlorine granulade this year and testing kit.

Hello TroubleFreePool, Hope you and all your families are doing well!! I live in NNJ and like much of the nation, I try to not go out unless I absolutely have to. That said I'm looking to open my pool and in the past I've mostly used liquid chlorine which is going to be a problem this year...

Cya level super high/Chlorine too low

Ok, being super conservative I'm at 120. Dot completely disappears at 50 meaning 100. What do you think is the best way to proceed?

Cya level super high/Chlorine too low

Of course you are helping! I appreciate all input. Ok, I just tested the water for the first time today. After draining a foot and refilling the pool I'm at just under 100 CYA. Made me really happy to see I'm at least on the test results. . . I'm going to read the tarp method now.

Cya level super high/Chlorine too low

This is my 2nd summer in this house. Last year tested the water and found CYA at 0. Tested with the TL-100 kit. I added socks of CYA pellets I purchased online and CYA levels were good last year. At the start of this season I didn't do any testing because A) I'm lazy. B) I'm stupid. C) Last year...

Cya level super high/Chlorine too low

I plan complete turn over my pool volume over the next 24 hours. This should really help, no? I've been testing with the TF-100 testing kit. CYA has gotta be over 100, but I'm waiting for the foot to refill before testing again. Reading through pool school now. Thanks! I'm in Jersey too. Do...

Cya level super high/Chlorine too low

Thank you very much for the info and feedback!! I drained about a foot last night. Refilling the pool now. Once full I'm gonna run 2x 3000 gph pumps and leave the hose running all day. Biggest question, what chlorine should I be using? I really dislike liquid as it evaporates so darn fast. Is...

Cya level super high/Chlorine too low

I've been lazy with my pool maintence this season as last year was such a breeze. Long story short my CYA is over 100. Chlorine is being swollowed up faster than I can add it. I'm thinking I should drain some of the Ayer and refill. Let me know if there is a better way to lower. Have some...

    Winter cover question

Hello all, Love this site! Looking for advice on winter pool covers. This is my first summer in my house/pool. The old elephant cover is old, worn and sunlight made it's way though making the water SUPER green. So, I'm in the market for a new cover. 1st, I've never used a pool cover, let...

    First test with TF100 kit

Wow! Taking the pucks out as soon as I get home. Total waste of $ huh? Never would've thought! Think slamming is necessary? I'll read up on it now, as I have no clue what it means. Chlorine really isn't holding.

    First test with TF100 kit

Thank you for your response! In my haste I failed to mention what I've been adding and my PH. PH was at 6.8 I purchased borax online and it should arrive today. I've added 170 oz of 6% bleach, the past 2 days. Additionally, I have 3 hockey puck chlorine tablets sitting in each skimmer basket...
