Omnilogic relays failing after update of firmware

I am not able to apply the firmware update again because now the Main panel is not visible. I have tried reverting to the previous firmware as well that didn't help either. Have tried a factory reset as well. thx

Omnilogic relays failing after update of firmware

I upgraded my Omnilogic panel today to the latest firmware. The MSP went through fine but while upgrading the MPP's firmware it did not go through and failed mid way. Now, the MPP doesn't show up in the config, I have a Ecostar VSP and a sense and dispense connected to the same board and that is...

Hayward Omnilogic Electrical Panel - Wiring Question and Suggestion

@CJadamec - Thanks for your explanation. It makes total sense. Not sure why Hayward would put a notation on the panel door indicating MIN size of 2/0 wires and min. ampacity of 125A. That's what threw the electricial off and Hayward support was of no help either. @avc8130 - Yes four wires, 2...

Hayward Omnilogic Electrical Panel - Wiring Question and Suggestion

Re: Voltage drop since I am going to need less than 20A, calculations indicate about 2.5% drop which is acceptable. Expandability could be a problem but if I ever need more Amps I will cross that bridge when I come to it. All existing but had been wired in differently. And all working. No...

Hayward Omnilogic Electrical Panel - Wiring Question and Suggestion

Distance is about 150 feet from main panel. Existing conduit and wires so I cannot go any higher. I did ask the inspector the question about smaller size and higher capacity panel. He said it will pass under code but asked me to consider voltage drop and expandability. Hopefully he doesnt look...

Hayward Omnilogic Electrical Panel - Wiring Question and Suggestion

Unfortunately, did not have a choice in the size of the conduit. It came with the house and had been put in place by the previous owner. And the wires are already pulled. Would have liked larger conduit. The only problem right now for me is the statement on the panel door stating min 2/0 and...

Hayward Omnilogic Electrical Panel - Wiring Question and Suggestion

Unfortunately, I am limited to 4 #10 wires as I have only a 1/2" conduit and that is the maximum that I can run safely per specs. This already existed in the house I bought, else would definitely have put in larger conduits. The one thing that got my electrician to put in a call to Hayward was...

Hayward Omnilogic Electrical Panel - Wiring Question and Suggestion

I have an Omnilogic that was in the process of being installed. 30A GFCI breaker from main panel to Omnilogic subpanel using 4 #10 wires (for a 30A max rating). My electrician while starting the work looked on the Omnilogic door which had the specifications of 240VAC, 125A Max, 2/0 min which...

    Polaris 9300 Floating cable pinout

I have a Polaris 9300 which was working till the floating cable connector (the end that plugs into the power control box) came loose. There are three wires coming (red, black and brown). The connector itself has four connectors labeled 1,2,3,4 I believe red goes to pin 1. I am not sure of the...

Hayward OmniLogic and Sense and Dispense Unit Compatibility

As an FYI: The AQL-CHEM is recognized by the Omnilogic contrary to what is written in the user manual. On talking to hayward tech support to confirm initial reaction was yes it should work but also mentioned it will depend on which year AQL-CHEm was manufactured since the HUA might not be...

Hayward OmniLogic and Sense and Dispense Unit Compatibility

Yes, am going to use the Hayward SWG along with the omnilogic, thats why I was thinking about the Sense and dispense.

Hayward OmniLogic and Sense and Dispense Unit Compatibility

Thanks for the input. I have started reading about all this. So if I want to automate my pool chemicals are there any other options? I travel and want to keep monitoring my pool chemicals and keep adjusting them. Are there sensors available that would be more accurate? Are there other options...

Hayward OmniLogic and Sense and Dispense Unit Compatibility

I read the Omnilogic manual carefully again and it state in there that the AQL-CHEM is not compatible with the Omnilogic. Its interesting though that the equivalent HL-CHEM seems to be compatible with the aquarites and the omnilogics. I am pretty sure its a firmware thing on the AQL-CHEM. To...

Hayward OmniLogic and Sense and Dispense Unit Compatibility

I am in the process of installing a Omnilogic and was wanting to use the Hayward Sense and Dispense unit. I got the unit (AQL-CHEM) for a good price but on looking into it further I noticed that the Omnilogic has another part number HL-CHEM. Looking into the user manual etc makes it seem like...

Wiring Hayward Prologic PS-4 (or OmniLogic) Sub panel

What you are saying makes sense. When I mentioned this to my electrician he said that since the neutral passes through the CB as well it would not trip due to imbalances. So he still suggests 1 20A GFCI at the main panel and two normal circuit breakers for the pool pump and light.

Wiring Hayward Prologic PS-4 (or OmniLogic) Sub panel

So put normal 20A 240V breakers in the main panel and two GFCI breakers (one rated at 240v for the pump and one 120V for the lights) in the omnilogic sub-panel? Would that be acceptable from a code perspective? Thanks

Wiring Hayward Prologic PS-4 (or OmniLogic) Sub panel

Thanks to everyone for suggestions and comments, they are very welcome. I had a licensed electrician come and take a look. This is what he has proposed: 1. Keep existing #12 wires (4 wires coming from the main panel - the wires are multi-stranded not solid) and convert entire circuit to 240V...

Wiring Hayward Prologic PS-4 (or OmniLogic) Sub panel

You were right, it has been wired that way. Since the main panel has four wires coming all the way to the pool (#12 for 20A) can I not have the panel circuit breaker replaced to a 20A 240V (L1-black, L2-Purple, N-White and Gnd=Green) and utilize a full 240V circuit without having to do the...

Wiring Hayward Prologic PS-4 (or OmniLogic) Sub panel

1 breaker is 20A and other is 15A. No idea of the wire size but I would assume max would be 12. I could change the main breaker to a 240v and use the existing wire but from what I read in earlier replies that is not safe and not upto code. The more I look into it the more I am getting...

    Aquarite Pro Power Consumption

I am trying to figure out what the power consumption of a Aquarite PRO running on 110V is-can someone please let me know. I have a 20A circuit running a 16A pump (110V, 1.5HP) and trying to figure out if the Aquarite Pro can run on the same circuit. Thanks TP

Wiring Hayward Prologic PS-4 (or OmniLogic) Sub panel

Danpik, Thanks for your suggestion, That got me thinking and I started looking at the existing wiring to the pool. First, it 1/2" not 3/4" as I assumed. From the main panel to the pool, half the distance is through the basement and garage (easily accessible) and then comes to the outside with a...

Wiring Hayward Prologic PS-4 (or OmniLogic) Sub panel

@gwegan: Thanks for your suggestions. So if I just used one circuit (110V) into the hayward breaker box I should be fine? My power consumption is only going to increase by the 100-150W of the automation equipment (controller of the hayward box+SWG cell). I can live with that as my pump is 110V...

Wiring Hayward Prologic PS-4 (or OmniLogic) Sub panel

Hi, Thanks for your response. 1. Yes. by motor I mean the pump. It is a 1.5HP. 110V pump. 2. Led landscape lights (in the process of converting) will not exceed 500W. It was about 1000W before on the same line but am reducing it. 3. Possibly 4 Valve actuators. So I am not going to exceed the...

Wiring Hayward Prologic PS-4 (or OmniLogic) Sub panel

I am trying to decide whether the Prologic PS-4 or possibly the Omnilogic will work for me. I have two 110v circuits coming from my main breaker panel coming to my pool area, one of the two goes to a gfci circuit (15A breaker) for some lighting. The other 110V goes to power a 110V Motor (20A...
