    Siemens LOGO as a controller

Hello, I have a Siemens LOGO starter kit with an additional analogue output module. My idea is to build the logic to run a small AGP with the ability to remotely monitor and, if needed, manually control it (web and remote HMI). This will be a new build including the pool. I am going to be...

How do I get rid of the wrinkles when filling the AGP?

The technique I use is to start filling and as soon as the bottom surface is covered, begin with two people standing opposite each other in the pool bare footed, against the frame, facing inwards. Using the heels of your feet, the aim is to both gently jump up and backwards a little, pulling the...

Intex Deluxe Skimmer - Bayonet Connection

Hello everyone, it has been a while since I last posted, so I hope that you are all well! I have an Intex Deluxe skimmer and was wondering if anybody knows which pipe or part will fit in to the inside of the round sleeve to the bottom of the skimmer, on the inside, where the plastic screen is...

Batch order to the UK - Taylor reagents and kits

Hello, I am soon going to need to order some replacement Taylor reagents from the USA, delivered to the UK. I was wondering how many people would be interested (if any) in ordering any parts, reagents or kits and splitting the shipping and customs charges appropriately? Here is the site that I...

    Static shock off water

The best way to solve this would be to get an electrician to have a look. If the static is not caused by removing the cover, then you have an electrical fault in your hot tub AND on your electrical installation. Do NOT use it until they have both been checked by a qualified electrician. Just...

Why would my heat pump keep tripping the circuit breaker?

The new standard is now R32, with manufacturers currently looking into mainstreaming CO2 for the near future ?. Water coming out of the refrigerant pipework - that is not nice to hear. Was it an expensive unit?

Using creek to fill pool and chemicals needed

Dump in the salt as you fill the pool, as soon as the water is full and the salt has dissolved by brushing, turn the pump on, and hit the boost button on the SWCG. You can boost quite a few times in succession, so you will then potentially have a few days to test and work out exactly what you...

Removing desert dust from the water mechanically

The DE arrived earlier today, successful addition to the skimmer complete with a 2 Psi increase in pressure. Now we a new problem... When I took the pump apart to un-seize it when I reopened the previous pool, I noticed a crack on on the impeller where it joins to the motor shaft. At the time...

    Intex owners, trim your pool!

Vinyl trimming: Would one of those tools with a non exposed blade that is used to open cardboard boxes in shops work well here? Rusting tubes: Why not get a few cans of clear lacquer or even just primer and spray inside each of the tubes before going about assembling the frame? It wouldn't...

Removing desert dust from the water mechanically

Thank you. I will forever stay clear of floc and clarifiers. My previous and only experience with DE was a bad one - I had unknowingly bought non-heat treated DE and it made a huge mess of my pool. I am sure that I made a post about it on TFP somewhere. Luckily notes have been added to that...

Removing desert dust from the water mechanically

Hello, I am unable to remove a very fine dust from my pool water - it is too small for the filter to catch. What other ways can I mechanically remove it? The dust is still blowing over and this is what it is. I was just about to buy some clarifier/flocculant, then I remembered vaguely reading...

Pool Math iOS - Unable to change temperature Units

Hello, I added a new pool to PoolMath for iOS and for the first Log entry I chose to save the temperature in C. All of my logs keep defaulting to F and even if I change the units to C, or edit them after, the units still remain in F. Could you have a look into this for me please? Tony

    Tf100 equivalent in uk?

I managed to get a Taylor 2006C sent over from a supplier in USA last year (11th of July) with a speedstir and salt water test. They sent it by UPS and I had to pay customs duty before it was released to delivery. Poolvacparts.com or AZ Pool Supplies (same company). Overall a very good experience.

    AGP Heat Pump and Insulation

Thank you for your suggestions. I will definitely be making a floating Armaflex cover, and not covering the walls. I cannot wait to get rid of the floaty ring of doom - it really is a pain! This one has lasted us 5 years, the failures being the sidewalls cracking after the pool being half full...

    AGP Heat Pump and Insulation

Hello, I am due to replace my small AGP 10ft by 30inch with a newer small AGP 10ft by 30inch, and will have to replace the floor insulation when I do this. As the new small pool will be a framed one, I was thinking of wrapping the whole of the outside of the liner sides with Armaflex sheets...

    Fittings for Intex to Hayward!

The rubber washer is an intex one found on most fittings that the larger hoses connect to, also available as spares. It has an ‘L’ cross-section to it. The cap came from the drain port on my intex filter (also another location that the L washer is found) and I was using it to test the fittings...

Request: Add 20% muriatic acid to poolmath app

I am fixing TA over time - it is currently 175, was 250, and I am trying to get it near to the range recommended by poolmath as the pH keeps jumping up. I have noticed a lot of people on here trying to get the figures ‘bang on’ but as you say, there is no point. I measure the MA out in the...

This is the instruction panel, with dose rates - this may help to work out if it is indeed 20%. I don’t follow these - only PoolMath.

Request: Add 20% muriatic acid to poolmath app

This confused me a little too - it must be a part of their marketing technique on this one. I have been making calculations for using it based on it being 20% as labelled and the next set of test results an hour after adding to the pool from my K2006C are exactly as predicted by the calculator...

Intex large pipe to PVC adapters that work

Hello, This is just an FYI as I remember people had difficulty getting the Intex pipework converted to PVC pipe. There are adapters that work off the shelf: Those two screwed together make this: Which you add the stepped / L profile Intex rubber washer to: And here is the blanking cap...

    First test results

Thank you for your replies. I will monitor the pH and TA closely and act accordingly. It would be good to be able to leave it to lower on its own over time with use - we shall see what happens. Tony
