    Beach Entry Code?

I wouldn't say the code applies to exactly a 1' drop over 7'... my interpretation would be any slope that was 1:7 using any type of unit; meaning if that first part is much steeper, it's probably not allowed.

    Beach Entry Code?

IIRC, the APSP/ANSI builder's manual states that beach entries should have a max slope of 1' drop in 7' of run. Waterworks

    www.poolbids.com

My first thought is that most of the best pool companies do not need this type of sales lead. The best companies deal mostly in referrals. Second, in any type of 'bid' situation you're going to get cut corners in construction practices, plumbing, equipment etc ('to code' doesn't mean the pool...

so how many have done their own IG liner replacement

The most important thing is getting perfect measurements. We would never order a liner without doing custom measurements. Go to this page: http://triac.com/measurements.php - and download the proper measuring sheet and fill it out in full, with every measurement accurate to about 1/8 - 1/4". Our...

    Infinity edge plumbing etc.

Another nice feature of the Intelliflo is its ability to go into 'edge cleaning' mode and ramp up the speed every few hours automatically to send a bit more water over the edge to clean off any leaves or other dirt that might have settled onto the edge.

    Infinity edge plumbing etc.

Well, no, those projects would be using 2.5 - 3" suction plumbing and water velocities of 2-4 fps. And if the edge effect is located in an area that you can't even see, what's the point of having some huge loud effect, and paying for it. And, depending on the material used on the backside of the...

    Infinity edge plumbing etc.

300 GPM is only necessary if you want a `sheet` of water to fall off your edge into your trough. I have seen projects with over 100` of edge powered by a half HP pump. If you are not concerned with the `sheet` action of the water spilling over the edge, you can base your numbers differently...

Rigid PVC to Tigerflex hose - which glue should I use ?

What you're looking for is any type of solvent cement that is rated for rigid or flexible applications, like many of the types on this page: http://www.ipscorp.com/weldon/pvcspecialtycements.html The glues that aren't rated for flex will tend to let go when the flex pipe moves. The glue itself...

    Truth About Phosphates

I'm a little late to the party, but I think I can add to this discussion. Natural Chemistry used to make a phosphate test kit that tested up to 5,000 or 10,000, I can't remember. Early in the year we would get people whose pools were full of decayed leaves from the winter whose phosphates would...
