Need advice on pool step gasket repair/replace

I had my liner replace back in April 2020, and have had leak issues since. I had contacted the old pool guy that put it in 20 years a go and has done my liner replacement before he had the old drawings so easy. He had his arm in sling said he wasn't up to speed and was going to have this other...

Leak in step gaskets or screws. Best underwater pliable caulking for screws.

so game plan is to drain pool and open stairs up after pool season and do it properly. I had leaks along the corners which I fixed with pool putty, I have searched and search for another leak at step gaskets and nothing. I'm not sure if in removing the 2nd gasket may have moved things. I do see...

Leak in step gaskets or screws. Best underwater pliable caulking for screws.

Long story short had a liner put in april 2020, and we've been fighting a leak for a while. Unfortunately we were bait and switches by our old pool builder from 20 years ago(3rd liner now) since he had broken arm and the new company is completely useless. Guys would say he would show up and...

Anyone make a sun sail out of lycra?

I had purchased some large triangle sun sails and after trying smaller mounting points it became obvious that when you start researching it you either need 6x6 or 4" schedule 40 galvinized pipe and lots of concrete. I was looking for something that was semi portable and we went to the beach and...

Shocked how much CYA was added in 2 weeks. newbies take note

CYA was my epiphany at understanding why i had issues every single year. You get a cloudy, green pool all of a sudden, your free chlorine is spot on, all the chemicals look good so you go to pool store. They sell you algecide, shock, water clarifier etc. Pool looks great again but the cycle...

Looking for a chemical proof 1/4" T for suction side of Stenner pump for 2 5 gal pails

thanks problem is i am trying to connect 2 5 gallon buckets with a T firtting on the suction side. I am using the standard Stenner tubing but want to draw chlorine for two buckets equally. This has worked with brass fitting but gummed up with green goop and looks like it added metals to pool as...

Looking for a chemical proof 1/4" T for suction side of Stenner pump for 2 5 gal pails

Ive been running my Stenner for over 3+ years now and its perfect for chlorine injection. My initial setup was 2 5 gallon buckets with a T to connect and I've tried plastic 1/4"T from Lowes(melted within a day or so) and brass ones(which gummed up with green goop from reactions with chlorine)...

Help! High CYA/Switching to this from pool store testing and chemocals

CYA is a killer and pool stores love it because most pool owners don't understand relationship with FC and CYA level. At a CYA of 100 your FC should be 11-13. If you use test strips or a talylor kit they tell you to keep FC at 3-4 ppm. and then gusee what you get cloudy water and algea so they...

High CYA level and should I use chlorine floater

if you look at the science behind CYA, its a buffer for chlorine from sunlight. Once the CYA gets too high you need to keep the chlorine high as you get chlorine lock. If your CYA is over 100 you should drain pool and refill to get it back to 50-60. You can get by with running your chlorine...

High PH issues with Stenner and liquid chlorine.

gothca. So i need to get some kind of fountain that sprays water up to help reduce TA, and reduce PH which will reduce TA as well. Quesition on why not use "PH Down" from Clorox VS muriatic acid. Seems safer plus i have a bunch of it.

High PH issues with Stenner and liquid chlorine.

so the odd thing is that i have been having this issue since day one of the new pool. at that point TA was 60-70 and i kept it there for at least a month. Then decided to go up by 10ppm every week to see if it made difference.

High PH issues with Stenner and liquid chlorine.

Been doing the liquid chlorine route with the Stenner and timer for 3 years now and pool has been great. This year every time it injects it seems to raise my PH and it gets to 8 so i need to add PH-Down to get it back down. Seems about every 2-4 days it gets too high. I have tried various...
