How do you manage disposal of leaf, pine straw, pool kill, captured in manual skimming and robot?

Used to throw it in the yard to compost. After spreading walking bark across the entire backyard for water conservation and to make it look nice, I now throw it in a garbage can that gets picked up as yard waste by the city.

    Robotic Cleaners

I had a Aquabot Turbo T for 9.5 years and the pump motor just died. I finally just left the unit in the pool after yr 2 I believe. Water finally entered the motor a month ago. I have lots of leaves and it did good picking them up. In the spring the leaves accumulating in the pool is so high I...

    Aquabot Turbo T just died

I didn't have the oil in the motor so likely your right....that caused the black wire to burn off the motor. Even so, the motor didn't spin up as it should have in the moments before the wires burnt. It was moving slowly exactly the same as when I noticed the issue in the first place. Something...

    Aquabot Turbo T just died

It's a joke... when the (magic) smoke comes out, it doesn't work any more. This motor had rectifier diodes soldered to the capacitors. Pump motor Capacitor SURPRISE rectifier When I noticed the pump was running very slow, I thought the capacitors would definitely be the cause. I soldered the...

    Aquabot Turbo T just died

Well the pump just went on the Turbo T about 2 weeks ago. The pump stopped working. I disassembled teh pump motor tried changing out the capacitors, but when I bench tested it the magic smoke left the motor and that was that. I wasn't sure if I should replace the motor or look into a new bot...

Calculate amount liquid acid to liquid chlorine?

Seems running the 2 injection systems unrelated to each other would make the most sense then. Probably dosing into the same pool return line at different times would be best as well.

    Stenner Cover

The previous owner of our house told me their inline tablet chlorine feeder blew up once. Imagine it was from the accumulation of chlorine gas and the pool motor providing the ignition spark. Said it sounded like a bomb. He was in the military, so I expect he had knowledge of what a bomb sounds...

Calculate amount liquid acid to liquid chlorine?

I was told the liquid chlorine was causing the requirement for acid, so that information from Leslies was wrong it sounds like. I'm constantly adding acid to balance the pH. TA is now 70.

Calculate amount liquid acid to liquid chlorine?

I've just installed a Stenner pump/tank for chlorine dispense and everything is working fine. Running 15 min/day with fixed rate pump and free chlorine is stable at 5ppm. Still have to manually add liquid acid regularly so looking to automate that as well and in the information gathering phase...

Stenner Pump: Variable vs. Fixed rate?

Just installed the fixed rate Stenner with 15 gal tank a month ago. Using a timer and everything seems to be running smoothly. I don't have a central control system and fixed rate seemed to be the easiest to implement and most simple to troubleshoot.

    Stenner with Tank Mounting

Received my Stenner a couple weeks ago and finally got everything installed and running today. Had to place it left of the current equipment same as the OP because the space occupied by the Liquidator is too small. Liquidator disconnected, but still in place. Still need to relocate a water bib...

Stenner pump for chlorine. Help with sizing and install ideas

What inline chlorinator is the PB recommending? I've had the Pentair https://www.amazon.com/Pentair-R171096-Rainbow-Automatic-Chlorine/dp/B001DO0QKQ and it was very inconsistent at maintaining chlorine levels. These Stenner systems are easy to install with a simple timer. Why does he think...

    Stenner with Tank Mounting

I will use this timer: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006LYHG42/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 There is a 110v outlet at the pad that's under the eave of the house. When we someday add a control center, I'll hard wire it.

    Stenner with Tank Mounting

Thanks for the pic and the dimensions. Looks like I have the same space constraint issue. The location of the Liquidator on my pad is too small for the Stenner tank so it will need to go to the outside of the other equipment. I look forward to you posting your step by step install procedure...

    Stenner with Tank Mounting

What are the dimensions of the tank? My Liquidator is starting to give me trouble and I'm looking to replace it with a 15 gal Stenner system. Are you going to use a simple weatherproof timer for the chlorine pump or something more elaborate?

    Robot recommendations needed

My AquaBot Turbo T just died yesterday so I'm looking for a new robot myself. Motor's are expensive. It lasted 6 years with only minor repairs (belts/tracks) needed up to this time. Left it in the pool nearly 24/7/365 and ran it at least once a week. I'll tear it down this weekend just in case...

    Going robot... sell Polaris 360?

We moth balled our Polaris 360 after we refinished the pool 6 years ago. Picked up an Aquabot Turbo T and it cleaned better than the Polaris, saved cost to power it and lasted 6 years with only minor belt and track repairs needed before the motor died yesterday. I kept the plumbing for the...

    Liquid pool cover

System runs about 9 hrs a day and was expecting reduced heat loss at night. We have tall redwood fences around the yard so wind isn't a big issue. I was looking for an alternative to a traditional cover that's not such an eyesore. Also want to reduce evaporation. Added another 2oz to boost...

    1/2" line to Liquidator

The LQ is full. It's the flow rate from the LQ to the pump is reduced as indicated by the flow meter. Not enough chlorine from the LQ is getting sucked into the pump because of the lower backpressure. Adding backpressure by closing the bypass increases the flow rate. I end up regulating the LQ...

Has anyone installed a 1/2" line to their liquidator? Reason I'm asking is because I have a variable speed pump and a bypass valve to eliminate the heater from the flow path. With the 3/8" line to the Liquidator and the bypass open eliminating the back pressure created by the heater, the...

Is Sandblasting recommended before resurfacing pool interior

Re: Is Sandblasting recommended before resurfacing pool inte After talking to several PB's before our replaster, we learned there are options: 1) sandblast if it is the first replaster done to the pool and the current plaster is not too bad and there are no cracks. They only chip around the...
