    Texas Winters; Waterfall, Leaves, Draining.

Yes - I do this now, but I think I need a longer pole. Plus it's **** on my back. Been looking at the surface skimming robots but they look like they'd get jammed quickly and I'd be out there cleaning it out every 10 minutes. I'll just have to get it done enough so the Dolphin can get back in...

    Texas Winters; Waterfall, Leaves, Draining.

Beautiful Thank you for the reply! Been searching around on pool skimmers with little luck. These DIY look perfect. Now to find a better way to get the leaves out (Dolphin chokes, poolmaster is a PITA, and my trees are laughing at me non-stop).

    Texas Winters; Waterfall, Leaves, Draining.

Moved from: Featured - Freezing Weather - Broken connection Thanks for the post - I hadn't thought of draining the water feature/fall - I'm right down the road from you ChristiK - in McKinney. I left it on all last winter, but maybe I need to drain it this winter. Been scooping leaves non-stop...

    Dolphin 30i Choking on leaves

Good idea - maybe they can sell the bottom plate and I can swap that out as needed. Just today I have about a bag or two of leaves in the pool from the wind this AM. They are smallish too - just too much dense volume of them at once to make in the basket. Thank you!

    Dolphin 30i Choking on leaves

My Dolphin is overwhelmed by the sudden mass of leaves (windy here) and keeps getting jammed right in the debris inlet - mainly packed in the cloth flaps. It does not look like the flap can be removed. It seems to be working fine, but just gets too many leaves at once in the opening and plugs...

Spa Blower with it's own mind

The heater is working perfectly. It’s the blower that seems to not want to run.

Spa Blower with it's own mind

When I first got my new house, we tried to figure out the spa, and decided it was only meant to give us warm water, not really like a jacuzzi. Fast forward to April when we had some hot days here in TX and I turned on the heater and spa. My little on screamed with joy at the bubbly water as I...

    Pool Math App Issue

I'm getting this issue on iPhone all the time. Definitely not a connection issue, since other apps work fine connecting (Outlook/darksky/FB/Youtube).

    Doheny's Discovery, S200, Active20, Triton owners club

Yet another newbie to join the family - Margaret @ Marina answered on the first few rings and cruised through the options quickly for me, and I already have the tracking ID for my Dolphin Active 30. She did a great job explaining the differences and saved me some cash since I was thinking the...

Tree and debris battle... Help with Skimming

That looks interesting. I'm looking at a robot - the fifty million variations... Since the Polaris I have does a marginal job if left to run all day and is a pain to clean out. You probably have some of the same Crud floating in the wind that I do neighbor!

Tree and debris battle... Help with Skimming

The whole unit - base and pipes rotate up - from either direction. I can only tighten the fitting so much since at a certain point the whole connector pops off. The slightest jar from the pool cleaner's hose knocked it completely off the other return I had it on before. So if I tighten it more...

Tree and debris battle... Help with Skimming

That makes me feel better... Been fighting this pool for a few weeks with a SLAM and potentially bad SWCG, so was frustrated with all the debris. My pool dork (Polaris) is not helping either...

Tree and debris battle... Help with Skimming

I think it’s a combination of wind and the petals being very light that they don't migrate to the skimmer entrance. The pool skim just collects them around the rim until they lose enough buoyancy hours later and get sucked in - IF the PS stays submerged. It keeps riding up after a while due to...

Tree and debris battle... Help with Skimming

Hi all - appreciate the help so far on my inherited pool. I'm doing well with the Pool Math and SLAM process but seem to be endlessly fighting the trees in my yard. Lately it's been the pollen and flower like petals from one tree. Last few weeks was the other tree, but the green pods floated...

First time cleaning filter on pool

Thanks - I think if I can get the top manifold off I should be able to spray off. I'll go slow and exercise the good arm today - thanks again

First time cleaning filter on pool

I've been managing my pool chem thanks to TFP & a SLAM, but am not sure my filter is cleaning out the dead algae and dirt very well. Just moved here last Fall, so I have no idea how old the filters are. They look fairly clean to me, but I am unable to remove them, so would love to hear from...

    Low CYA?

We've had some pretty high levels of rain in the past weeks. Couldn't that lower CYA? - - - Updated - - - Yes it's a T-15. I'll get that test kit ASAP. Thanks

    Low CYA?

The serial (I think) is 3E14220-200216 (under the barcode on the left). Would that mean 2014 was the MFG date?

OK thanks - will kill the heater unless using the spa.

    Low CYA?

Thanks - that makes sense. I'll wait until I get my testing kit to hopefully see what the true CYA is. Gonna definitely go the route of liquid chlorine to maintain in the winter as suggested. I have no idea how old the T-15 cell is, so better not run it if not needed. Just need to see...

    Low CYA?

Thanks - I have been reading and need to get my own test kit. Ordering the TF100 now. I was just confused by the local shop saying stabilizer level is OK, when CYA was so low compared to the Pool School charts.

Aqua Logic Timer - Super Chlorinator Setting

I'm heating it only because I'm paranoid of freezing... But we also want to use the spa, but maybe the cost of heating that in spa mode is less overall going from 50-100 than keeping the pool at 65 and going to 100 from there when needed. Thanks for the replies

Aqua Logic Timer - Super Chlorinator Setting

Thanks Jim, yes I read here to never use it, so haven't since. Plus I'm keeping the water at 65F - so the SWCG should still produce despite air temp - correct?

    Low CYA?

My first water test at the Pool Store nearby on 10/29 showed: FC - 0.05 TC - 0.05 pH - 7.9 Hardness - 263 Alk - 86 CYA - 80 Salt - 2800 (system reads 2400) Here's about how it looked around that time: After following their instruction, I added some Muriatic Acid (2 Cups), a bag of salt and...

Aqua Logic Timer - Super Chlorinator Setting

Just moved into our house in early Oct, and I'm finally starting to learn how to work the automation and system using the remote and the main panel. One setting that confuses (or worries) me is the Super Chlorinator in the Timer menu. I've read the automation controller manual from Hayward on...

Polaris 280 Tail Stuck in Inlet on Side Wall

We've been in the home three weeks, inheriting the pool and after returning from a business trip this week, I came across the Polaris Tail stuck in the wall inlet. I tried pulling it gently out, but it does not want to budge. The cleaner has been working well the whole time until I saw this...
