    Intermatic pool timer issues.

Just an update replaced the whole mechanism and all good now. I noticed the ON mechanism under the dial had a worn out, shame they don't make them like they used to. 365 x 6 approx 2000 on clicks before the metal wore out. Technically the tripper should wear out first but I guess it's done this...

    Intermatic pool timer issues.

Unrelated. I just noticed the ground earth wire has been removed from timer . I remember putting this on when I installed it 6 years ago. Since then I had a new pool pump and filter installed by a third party so they didn't attach it, but now it looks like they out the ground earth wire in a cap ?

    Water evap and bucket test?

I think the design of my pool could have been better. In respect to the skimmer line etc. Basically I get vortex in skimmer beyond two inches of water loss.

So if the new ON tripper fails to resolve the issue, is there another part that I can buy?

    Water evap and bucket test?

I'll read that article later , thanks. So any central Florida pool owners care to chime in about their water loss ?

    Water evap and bucket test?

I've found the bucket test not to be so accurate , am I correct in thinking that the surface area of the pool and the depth of the water in the bucket would less evap from the bucket? In any case, I'm central Florida and there has been no rain for a while. My in ground pool has lost 2 inches of...

    Intermatic pool timer issues.

If the contact point was worn , wouldn't that also prevent the off tripper from engaging? I went ahead and ordered some trippers. I replaced the whole unit about 6 years.

    Intermatic pool timer issues.

My pool timer won't turn on but will turn off. I checked the ON tripper and reseated it still no luck. Anything else to look for? The clock timer does rotate. Thanks.

    Main drain cover half off

Thanks for the advice. Fortunately for me the main drain doesn't truly function as a main drain. Meaning when I flip the valve lever main drain it causes pressure in the sand filter to immediately raise. That's the reason I unscrewed the cover in the first place. I wanted to see what was under...

    Main drain cover half off

The cover was held in place via two philips screws. The screws threaded into two holes that are located at 12 and 6 o'clock on the edge of the main drain plastic surround. I remember not being able to thread one screw fully , it would turn a quarter a turn and then fail to fully drive in any...

    Main drain cover half off

The main drain cover is in the deepest center part of my in ground pool. The cover is held in place with two philips screws. I remember I couldn't fully tighten one of the screws when they emptied to clean my pool around half a year ago after deck was remodeled. Any options for securing the...

    Calcium Deposits on pool wall

I think I've joined the calcium nodule gang. Noticed a few of these after the pool light was switched on at night at the bottom of the gunite pool. The pool was replastered in 2011, and the pool was emptied in March 2018 for remodel work of the deck . I guess that played a factor.

    Bucket test after 6 days.

How about the sunlight , I'm thinking it won't be as focused on the bucket with the high edges sitting in the corner compared to the wider area of the pool surface. I'm not sure , just talking really. ;-)

    Bucket test after 6 days.

I did a bucket test on my in ground pool with the pump off for 6 days. The pool showed just under 1" off loss and the bucket just under 0.5" off loss. So approximately half and inch difference. Could the bucket due to smaller surface area show maybe less evaporation? Location is central Florida...

    Am I being to fussy?

Seven years was the day I became a home owner with little to no pool maintenance knowledge, hence me joining this forum. I'm north of Tampa Bay Florida.

Credit to the contractor, he came yesterday and sand and sealed it. Wasn't expecting him to turn up again.

I'm glad it's finally over, I've been making some small adjustments here and there and look forward to sand and sealing it shortly.

    Screeching at start up

Indeed. Screeching started to occurred during the last 12 months on and off. But the old one used to hum since we moved here 7 years ago. So I'm assuming it's probably now broken in . I noticed it the humming noise from inside the house, almost like a resonance coming through the ground / walls.

Good things I guess came to end today, motor gone back to the buzz humming noise of before today. Wonder what causes this ?
