Just a little tidbit about the ICXX cold water stop I didn't know

Thanks, Jim. I am in the Riverside area of So Cal, so I do not know if DFW area is much different than my location as far as Winter average temp. When my SWG is in cold cutoff 10 0z of liquid CL I had from the Fall seems to keep my CL at 5-6 ppm and happy. This is my first Winter with SWG so I...

Just a little tidbit about the ICXX cold water stop I didn't know

My IC60 has been giving a cold water stop light for a few days now. The light was on this morning, and then when I checked about 5 hours later the IC60 was back to generating Chlorine! I thought that when the unit powered up in the morning, it detected cold water and stopped until the next power...

Time for the Stenner to take over

Installed my IC60 last May and ran it all Summer. What a joy. It replaced a Stenner pump that I used for a few years before converting to the SWG. Now that the water temp has fallen enough to make the SWG not work, I will revert back to the Stenner for the Winter. Really glad now that I did not...

    IC60 cold water stop

Thanks for the replys, will just let it go. 90's temp would be nice, I hate the cold!

    IC60 cold water stop

My IC60 finally stopped working with a cold water temp indication. Pool water according to Easy Touch is 54 degrees, but probably the thermistor in IC60 is indicating 52 degrees or less to the IC60. Too bad the thermistor in the IC60 is NTC or I might be tempted to put a small value resistor in...

LED pool light sometimes trips GFCI breaker

Check all of your connections inside the junction box where you connected the light to be sure they are secure. Make sure there is no moisture inside the box and that the gasket between the top and bottom of the box is in place. Gary

Pentair IntelliChlor IC40 - inspect cell

Look around on the Web sites for end of year clearance deals on the Intellichlor. Not many people want to buy a new SWG just before winter. I just installed my IC60 last May and hope I can get as many hours out of mine as you did with you yours.

    IC60 zero salt indication

Did your temp test. The 60% and 80% lights come on. Actual pool temp is 75 degrees. I did not get a model number from the switch. Unit is working great now so I am not going to tear it apart. 3 wire switch works with 4 wire cell and 4 wire switch works with 4 wire cell. I do not know if any...

    IC60 zero salt indication

When I first talked to the Pentair rep, he informed me that they have a new vendor for the flow switch and that he was sending one of the new ones. Included was an instruction manual for the switch installation that showed connecting the red, black and white wires from the switch to the...

    IC60 zero salt indication

Got the new flow switch and installed it today. Salt reading is now normal (displays 3300 ppm, actual salt is 3200 ppm). I measured the old thermistor and it was reading about 200 Ohms (no good for a 10K thermistor). The new thermistor read 9.2K at my shop temp of about 80 degrees. I still do...

    IC60 zero salt indication

Thank you Jim. I will dissect the old switch and try to see what I can see. I know the switch is OK, but I can take resistance measurements of the Thermistor at various temperatures to see if it has any kind of Log function as a Thermistor should have. I just tried running the pool with a...

    IC60 zero salt indication

Update: Contacted Pentair this morning and after only a 5 minute wait explained the problem. Tech said probably a flow switch and was going to open a case and have a rep come out to replace the switch. I told him just to send me the switch and I would replace it. After looking for their closest...

    IC60 zero salt indication

Thanks, Jim I will start by insuring all connections are good, then install a new flow switch followed by the surge board. If not fixed, I will just live with it until the cell dies. I will report back if I can fix the problem. Gary

    IC60 zero salt indication

My IC60, installed last May is showing zero salt in the ScreenLogic PC and Android applications. All lights on the IC60 are normal and the unit is producing CL. I can adjust the run percentage from ScreenLogic, so it would seem that the RS485 interface is working. The IC60 is connected through...

    PoolMath wont run after update.

Same issue on my Nexus 7 (2013 version) Android 6.0.1. tablet. Starts to load then stops with error message - UNFORTUNATELY, POOL MATH HAS STOPPED. The Windows 10 version on my PC works fine. I uninstalled and re-installed twice, same result. Reported crash. Gary

    PVC PIPE came out .

Dis-connect the union so that you can give the joint a quarter turn immediately after applying the cement and joining the pieces together. This help in distributing the cement evenly around the joint. Gary

Triton Plus gets stuck on main drain

Got my Unibridge and installed it today. Using my remote control, I ran the robot over the Unibridge like 25 times in different directions. Not once did the robot hesitate to roll right over the Unibridge, and did not move it. Hopefully, no more stuck robot for me! Thanks rolo918 for the great...

Triton Plus gets stuck on main drain

Also, do you leave your Unibridge in the pool or put it in just when using the robot? If it is not a pain to take out or put in I think I will just remove it when not used to extend the life of it. Gary

Thanks. After reading several of the previous discussions on the matter I say FAGETABOUTIT to the anode.

Triton Plus gets stuck on main drain

Thanks for the info. Looked up the Unibridge on Amazon and some people say that it comes off of the drain too easy when the cleaner hits it. I suspect that they are mainly talking about sliding cleaners such as the Kreepu Crauly and not cleaners that would roll over the cover. I ordered one and...

Triton Plus gets stuck on main drain

I have used my Dolphin Triton Plus for a few years now, and it has been exceptional. Occasionally it would get stuck on the main drain cover (Aquastar 8"), but today it has done it twice. Any advice on some type of cover or clip I could put over my main drain would be appreciated. Thanks...

    The conversion begins-SWCG

I run my Inteliflow at 1500 rpm and it will not completely fill the pump basket at that speed. At 2500 rpm it will fill the basket and have no air bubbles. When I first got my vsp I thought I had an air leak, but then found out this is normal for a vsp.

    The conversion begins-SWCG

Air bubbles in the return are normal for a SWG. They are Hydrogen gas, and only appear when the SWG is actually producing chlorine. If you had an actual leak, it would be something on the suction side.

    The conversion begins-SWCG

I would not add any salt until you know for sure how much you already have in your pool. This advice was given to me on this forum when I asked some questions before starting my own SWG conversion. I got the Taylor K-1766, measured my salt level and was shocked to see that I already had a...

    SWG Output to FC Conversion

Marty and Jim, thank you so much for the info. My pool uses about 60 Oz of 10% LC (target 4-5 ppm FC) in the hottest summer months (Jul - Sep) so if my figures are correct I will have no trouble with the IC60 staying up running 9 1/2 hrs per day at 50%. Could even be a little less, since my LC...
