just got H250ed2c heater and have a few questions

I've been testing it each day and it looks like (so far at least) the issue has gone away. It is now taking 13-30 secs. Is it normal for it to purge after being on standby for 24 hours or so? Any long term issues that can arise? There was no error code and I have the gas line fully open.

just got H250ed2c heater and have a few questions

Ah. The above pool specifications make sense now. I have 3 manuals and none say anything other than removal of drain plug. I guess that's all that is required other than blowing out lines? Yes it takes 5 minutes to start heating after its been off for a while. I normally have the pump...

just got H250ed2c heater and have a few questions

I have the manual but it doesn't explain these. The Winterization section says "For above pool installations only" the drain value should be opened and left open. Nothing about in-ground. I found the FD manual which might be more applicable to this unit. Also, I put it in standby when not in...

just got H250ed2c heater and have a few questions

I can't find the following in the manual. Can you answer these for me? - What is the difference between spa and pool modes? I am using for my pool. Is it a problem if it accidentally gets switched to spa? - How do i winterize it? The manual just says to drain water. With my old heater i had...

    Heater doesn't click on

The heater is outdoors, uncovered. It's been dry for over a week. I didn't turn it on when the pool was opened, but of course when I needed it it didn't work! I did clean it. I also cleaned the various connectors, some of which tend to oxidize over the winter. No luck. Pressure switch was...

    how to repair safety cover

How long should a safety cover last? I don't know how old it is but we've had it for about 6 years. We have a raised deck with a locked gate and don't use the backyard over the winter. Safety is more of a concern for us while the pool is open. Having said that I do want to make sure that if...

    how to repair safety cover

I have a green mesh winter safety cover that has two rips - each one along a separate seam. I think each one is about a foot long but I haven't measured. I would like to repair them myself if possible. I could try hand sewing them but they are not near the edges so it would be a bit tedious...

gas heater warms up but doesn't get hot

I finally had time to check the burner and all the tubes were working and had nice flames. It seemed to be warming at about the same rate the last year but I've never kept track of degrees/hr. Haven't taken the top off yet. We haven't used it much this year, but when we did it was a little...

gas heater warms up but doesn't get hot

The water coming from the returns is warm but not as nearly as hot as last year... consistent with the change in temp that I notice at the unit. In order to run the heater I had to run the pump on high as there was not enough flow on low speed for it to work. I don't know what the rpm was on...

gas heater warms up but doesn't get hot

My gas heater was working fine when I closed the pool last year. This year I had to replace the pump (from dual speed to vs) before opening. When I run the heater on max I noticed that it gets very warm, but not hot. It used to be that I couldn't put my hand anywhere close to the vent cap...

I need help troubleshooting gas heater

Ok, here is the latest... I used the first method of testing (I don't know what chassis ground means). Assuming that I did it correctly, with the pump off both the fusible link and pressure switch read open. With the pump on the fusible link reads closed, but I was getting a reading for the...

I need help troubleshooting gas heater

I replaced the pilot generator and am now getting 450mv however it did not fix the problem. I jumped the pressure switch connectors and it ignited, so it appears to be faulty. What I don't understand however is why? It has continuity. From what I had read I understood that getting continuity...

I need help troubleshooting gas heater

It seems to be ok condition from what I can see. I don't have thermopile listed in the manual. Is that the same as the pilot generator or pilot electrode?

I need help troubleshooting gas heater

We have had a bunch of issues with our pool this year including a hole in the liner, skimmer valve leak and a faulty limiter in the swg. The latest are our heater and pump. Our heater was working fine when we tested on opening. When we used it for the first time it ignited fine and seemed to...
