    Marina Pool & Spas question

It seems they're quite busy like most pool places this time of year, but I suppose this high volume is what keeps their prices affordable on things like robot vacuums. Just keep trying to call, don't bother with voicemail or e-mail. Once you get ahold of Margaret she'll answer your questions and...

    Nautilus CC Plus - upgrade?

The returns should be directed that they cause circulation either in a clockwise direction or counterclockwise direction. Mine go counterclockwise. The skimmer drain should be also open more than the main drain. I have a multiport valve ahead of my pump which can select 100% main drain / 0%...

Does the first appearance of Algae require a SLAM?

Same exact thing happened to me.. no algae all summer, then when I went out of town for a week, some well-meaning friends were going to add liquid chlorine nightly for me. Well that didn't happen as well as I'd hoped.. they even sent me pictures as the algae grew. I should have just used some...

    Winter cover.. which to buy....

Solid safety covers usually have the option of either a mesh center or having to use a pump. There is one report earlier in this thread that you don't actually need the pump. Then again there is another recent thread showing where the pump is needed due to water accumulation. The Loop Loc FAQ...

    Winter cover.. which to buy....

No, I wasn't planning on going with a tarp, I just wasn't expecting safety covers to be so pricey, and was really hoping that I could use a stock size since it's a basic rectangle, but the steps are calling for a custom cover. You know the saying,"Advice is what we ask for when we already know...

    Winter cover.. which to buy....

The cover dealer I've been working with says that they don't have stock sizes that fit the steps. They're willing to sell me something close, or I could just get a custom cover made. From the cover dealer: "None of the manufacturers have a standard cover size for your step size or offset size...

    Winter cover.. which to buy....

We are relatively new homeowners and just got the inground pool up and running again this year with a new liner and some other repairs. We have a lot of trees and get tons of leaves in the fall. We get a good amount of snow and several accumulations and thaws. We have a baby daughter and want to...

Vinyl Liner Pattern Roundup Project - Post Pic & Name Of Your Liner

We went with Kafko Capri / Fresco II. This is one of the lighter colors from Kafko, but our backyard has a lot of shade from trees and we didn't want the pool to be too dark. The border also has some gray in it which matches our concrete deck. Very happy with how it looks.

Marina Pools - still the go to?

I also just bought a S200 from Marina. I called Margaret at Marina a few weeks ago and described my pool (no frills 18x36 rectangle) and that I didn't really need/want features like Bluetooth control and she recommended the S200. I then checked with a few local dealers that were no help, either...

Pool water is above skimmer line

You can also siphon the water down if you don't have a pump. Put a garden hose in the pool, hold it under water until the hose is filled, then pull one end out and it should start siphoning.

    New pool maintainer

Thank you, mknauss! You're very observant that I used the 0.2 ppm measurement for FC. Sounds good, will use less of the tester kit that way. Added muriatic acid and pH is already down, about 7.8 Will add some more tomorrow. I had not added CYA previously as I'm a complete newbie and wasn't...

    New pool maintainer

Hello! We are relatively new homeowners and just got our pool repaired with a new liner and fresh fill of water about 5 days ago. It's a nice 18'x36' inground pool, approx. 20,000 gallons (measured via water meter using the start and finish during the fill). Water is clear, when I swim it's a...
