Rope around bottom of Intex AGP

Two questions. The instructions don't specify so should the legs be inside that rope just like they are inside that band around the middle? Also, what purpose does that bottom rope serve?

Vacuum for Intex Above Ground Pool

So going to attempt to do the pantyhose/knee-hi trick today, but I have a stupid question. Will any old pantyhose/knee-hi from the store work, or do i need a particular "type" so it actually catches the finer dirt/sand particles?

Vacuum for Intex Above Ground Pool

Yeah, I wonder if for now I'm just better off trying the hacks of knee high/pantyhose over the mesh bag on my existing "vacuum" thing that came with it that attaches to the hose, then maybe trying the hairnet in the skimmer. For the hairnet trick though, where exactly do you put it? My Intex...

Vacuum for Intex Above Ground Pool

I was hoping to stay out of the triple digits on a solution here, but still want something that works. I'm right there with you Joe, I'd love to have it do it for me, but I think the price outweighs my level of allowed laziness haha. Never thought of the siphon thing, that sounds like it...

Vacuum for Intex Above Ground Pool

I was looking at those, they are nice. I think they're a little too fancy and therefore pricey for me though. Wish I would have thought about this topic a few weeks ago, I just had to replace my pump and bought the same one out of fear that a different one wouldn't hook up just right and i'd...

Vacuum for Intex Above Ground Pool

That is indeed the vacuum I have, thanks for the tip! My problem is definitely the fine debris like dirt/sand on the bottom.

Vacuum for Intex Above Ground Pool

Hopefully others can recommend ones they've used. Even if it's just a standalone and not one that hooks up to the filter.

Vacuum for Intex Above Ground Pool

thanks jeff and chayne. so sounds like I really need to look for something else then based on that.

Vacuum for Intex Above Ground Pool

Good to keep in mind. Luckily for me I take the ladder out so I think I would avoid that issue.

    Ah thanks, good to know.

Vacuum for Intex Above Ground Pool

Thanks. maybe i'll give it a try. even if it only works at 50%, maybe that is better than nothing. and that's a good price. I've seen some fancier ones that were WAY more expensive than that.

Vacuum for Intex Above Ground Pool

You're right, didn't even notice that. I'm not even in the recommended range. Maybe I need something different?

    What am I doing??

Sorry. Since she said she was going to Walmart, every Walmart I've ever been to has sold HTH products. They sell two kinds, the orange lid that is stabilized, then the yellow lid which is not. According to their website their non-stabilized stuff is cal-hypo, so wouldn't those be an option...

    Opening Pool & Solar Cover

I do. I don't take it fully off every day, especially if I'm not using it. Just make sure you're still checking the chemicals every day though. A couple days of being lazy will make that pool water gross.

This thing sounds so cool! Thanks for the help. I hope I can find one at a good price.

Vacuum for Intex Above Ground Pool

This sounds right up my alley then. So I'm guessing it just has a compartment you have to empty week, as opposed to it having a filter too? and this is probably a stupid question, but how does it actually go around the whole pool to clean the entire bottom? does it have like sensors in it or...

Vacuum for Intex Above Ground Pool

No vacuuming in 3 years, that's music to my ears! Thanks for the recommendation. How does it work? Does it just start running once your pump turns on at it's scheduled time?

Vacuum for Intex Above Ground Pool

Have an Intex AGP with the 1500Gph Krystal Clear Cartridge Filter Pump (28635EG). My only gripe I've ever had is with cleaning the bottom of the pool of dirt that blew in. The included vacuum you hook up to your hose is really more for getting bigger things like leaves, as the dirt just blows...

    Intex pool help

If you're saying one part of your pool is off by 6 inches, you really gotta fix that. Maybe a local landscaping company does that if you want to hire someone? Check YouTube also for videos on leveling for pools, they really helped me tackle that originally.

    Opening Pool & Solar Cover

Plus that cover is helping keep dirt and whatever else is blowing around out of the water, skimmer, pump which would also reduce your pumps efficiency.

    Trying to level my backyard😤😤😤

There's also some good videos on YouTube about leveling for pools. It can be a lot of work, especially for one person, but really put the effort in for year 1 to get it level, it'll pay off in the long run.

    What am I doing??

If Walmart has a 6 way or at minimum the 3 way HTH kit that would work for your pool. Are you tablets chlorine only, or do they also contain cya/stabilizer to help the chlorine last longer? But yeah definitely start with the floater with tablets in it, then go get that kit.

HTH test kit with Clorox OTO

Gotcha. I just wanted to clarify in case I confused anyone. I'm hoping somewhere will get the HTH in soon so I can go back to normal testing. Was just wondering if I could use the Clorox as a stopgap. Plus I'm not even sure chemically how the test works so thought it was worth a post in case...

What to get for a successful-fun-low worry-new AGP

It all depends how serious and how of an investment you want. Also consider what you want to do in the pool activity wise and how many people at a time. I've had an Intex ultra for 6 years now and it really suits my needs. Definitely get a solar cover to keep it warm and to help keep debris...

    AG Pool Setup Advice

If it's not just the pool sweating so you're talking minimal water, you probably have a small hole in the pool somewhere. They are super easy to patch, the hard part is finding them. I'd stop filling before it's totally full, hop in and see if you can find it.

    Test kit

Far from an expert here so just providing my experience. Im on year 6 as a pool owner. The strips are junk. Like they said that's a good kit. I had a 6 way kit for a while and once I figured out how to properly use it, never had a problem since.

HTH test kit with Clorox OTO

Right, ideally I would have gotten the HTH OTO if I could have. 3 stores didn't have it so my choices were off brand or Clorox. The HTH bottle says <1% OTO while the Clorox says .13%. I tried looking online to see if it said how much water each vendor's test 3 in 1 test kit held for the Cl Br...
