    Solar Heater

ah, that makes sense! Also, because we bought it used, i cannot find any maker name on it and I need a few replacement parts, mostly the rubber grommet that fits into the rectangle box, then the tube slides into it if that makes sense. I cant find it online because i dont know exactly how to...

    Solar Heater

Hello we have a tube solar heater that came with a used pool we purchased. My question is, on all the pics i see online, the heaters are always upright/or at least diagonal (i.e. the slope of a roof) is this necessary or is lying them flat on a table OK?

    Cloudy water/high cya

I did use an algaecide on day 1! Is this bad? My prior pool seemed to require an algaecide even with SLAM and I did it out of habit with this one

    Cloudy water/high cya

It was always my understanding that the cya after it sitting for the winter would be zero ? But maybe I remembered incorrectly. Either way, i was able to get some more readings! FC 11 Cc 0 Cya now read as 50 ? And I did it two times ? Water is still very cloudy

    Cloudy water/high cya

My test kit is missing a couple elements from last year so I dont have every reading;/ but I have cloudy water. Its turquoise not green but I cannot come close to seeing the bottom. Mu question Is, I assumed the cya was 0 since it sat all winter. I used the formula and added the correct amount...

    I'm still here :/

Ok here's the continuation :) I have continued to slam and am complete now with good FC and cc levels but water is not clear because of other issues. As I suspected it wasn't algae turning it green but the iron in the water. I ended up putting metal free in and it has dropped the iron to the...

    I'm still here :/

I wonder If that's it?! It has been kinda of turquoisey some and I had to fill with the hose and we have well water that has iron in it. SoI test for it at pool store what do you use to get the iron out if that's the case since I shouldn't buy from them

    I'm still here :/

OK. I don't see any algae anywhere like I have in the past, nothing floating or on walls just the greenness of the water but I'm assuming that alone means I have an algae problem ? Vs something else ?

    I'm still here :/

Do you think this would be causing my water to still be green/not clear at all? It had been at slam level for two days and I'm not noticing a difference. Trying to determine csi level basing it on what pH was before slam process

    I'm still here :/

Ok and now the latest saga! My FC is still st slam level but I was cleaning and noticed the walls where the water level was at all winter have a grainy white abrasive substsnce on them. Any clues if this is my problem and or how to fix ?

    I'm still here :/

Just tested and got cya at 30 but not totally positive. I did it twice and I got about the same both times. My FC was 14 (28 drops so this is right correct?) my cc was 1 (2 drops) My FC hasn't been below 12 (my target) since I started this process because someone told me to dump chlorine...

At what point should I expect the color to start changing? That sea level has been above 12 for two days now and it is still the same color that it was when I started this process??

Thank's. I'm on my phone and can't get signature to stay? It only does it when I make the original post? I am following the slam directions. I have them printend out actally. What confuses me is I think I have it all right so I start process and then some levels don't test correctly during...

Thank you. If you lived near Dayton Ohio I would just pay you to come do this haha. So frustrating I feel like we are forever running into new problems ! I'm still getting some leaves from bottom of pool even after hours of raking but the pool is 21 ft by 42 ft and I can't see the bottom so hard...

    I'm still here :/

Well I added cya last night can I test already and get an accurate result ? My FC is 17 and haven't put chlorine in since last night when I apparently put in way too much. I also added water yesterday morning so it's possible my pH is not as low as it was can I test that now or will it be...

    I'm still here :/

So the adding chlorine and checking every 10 minutes didn't work because I couldn't get chlorine above 7 or so with checking and adding every 10 minutes but now after sitting over night my FC is 20 and I only needed to be at 12. It hasn't changed color much at all. No reason to add anything else...

    I'm still here :/

Ok so in have been adding chlorine every ten minutes. 10% is what I'm using. I have now put in 8 gallons in 40 minutes and the highest reading I have gotten is 4 FC. How is that possible ? Pool calculator said I only needed about 3 gallons to get FC to 10??

    I'm still here :/

You said keep adding. So do u dump chlorine and test to see when I'm at 10 and then add chlprime every 10 till it holds ? If so, when do I add the cya ?

    I'm still here :/

It hasn't been green like it gets when it has algae more like a turquoise hazy color

    I'm still here :/

OK so when increasing the FC how do I get it to hold between 6 to 10? Just keep adding until it stays ? I've spent two hours so far getting out debris and I feel like I have gotten most of it but without being able to see the bottom it's hard to tell and sometimes I find a new pile. I retested...
