    Equipment Pad not level

All I have is VSP, Booster pump, SWG, & Cartridge Filter Unfortunately the lines coming out of the ground are not connected with unions. I agree, I should've told them to give me a proper pad.

    Equipment Pad not level

I can lift the low pad area up if I empty the filter. It is the back corner near the house that is the worse. So I can support it as I dig out. It's just going to how to permanently support it.

    Equipment Pad not level

My pool is 13 months old and the equipment pad is the pre-fabricated concrete. The ground has settled on one side and the pad actually cracked down the middle. Of the side that is settling is the side with my filter and there is a lean going on with the filter. Anybody have this problem and...

High CH.....I want Low TA and Low PH, right?

Thanks Texas Splash for confirming my thought process. TA is at 65, I'll get it down to 60 and maintain PH in the between 7.2-7.6. Now over time, that TA will eventually get too low and I'll need to add baking soda, right? I've only had to deal with high TA up until this point.

High CH.....I want Low TA and Low PH, right?

A couple months back I had calcium snowflakes pooling the in bottom of the pool. CH was 650ish and TA was 110. I got the TA down to 65. The snowflakes have stopped but I do have floating scale on the surface. I assume that is calcium. So I went to a mom and pop pool store I buy acid from...

    Cleaning Solution for Cartridge Filters

Thanks poolman, I was just looking at this stuff. I saw this and Jacks Magic Power Blue cartridge cleaner. The Bio-Dex is cheaper than the Jack's Magic.

    Cleaning Solution for Cartridge Filters

Thank ya'll for the advice. I'm not sure I really want to have to soak. I kind of want to get it over with in a couple of hours., plus space in my garage is a premium to store big buckets. I might try some spray on solution and let load for a bit and hit with my Aqua-comb, which is pretty...

    Cleaning Solution for Cartridge Filters

Thanks 1poolman1. So dishwasher soap being the powder stuff and mix in a bottle. I'll have to look for some cartridge cleaner. If I'm doing it 3 times a year, I could probably swing the inflated cost....maybe.

    Cleaning Solution for Cartridge Filters

So searching through the forum I have seen dish detergent and TSP used for cleaning. I pulled mine this weekend and had a lot of dirt and kind of a slimy milky stuff on them. Some areas of the filters were stained and didn't want to come clean. I used the Aqua Comb on them. I'm wondering...

Went to Leslies and got questions about results

Thank tim5055. Where do I get these industrial phosphate removers that you speak of? I stay on top of my pool pretty well. I've been working a month or 2 to get the TA and CYA where they should be . Still have a bit to do on CYA. But TFP has been and awesome resource.

Went to Leslies and got questions about results

Thanks Texas Splash. Just finished a round of CYA addition and got it up 10 points. Going to be adding some this weekend to get the CYA up. I'm keeping the TA low to hopefully keep the calcium floaties and scaling down. So are these floaties calcium you think? Leslie's recommended a no...

Went to Leslies and got questions about results

Yes, I know...why am I going to Leslies. I test and maintain the pool myself. I was curious about some readings I was getting for CYA and TA and went to a mom & pop local store that uses the Taylor kit I use. Their numbers were a good bit different. So I went to Leslies and their levels were...

Pentair App IntelliFlo VSF not letting me change pump settings

It's strange because it will save the changes made on the other devices but the pump.

    Operation TA Commenced

SoDel and duraleigh, I checked my unsoftened pool fill (well water) and the TA is 370!!! With the CH (375) and TA (370), no wonder I'm seeing scale flakes in the pool. I'll get the pool fill connected to the softened water this fall, and the TA is down to 70 as of yesterday. My target is...

Pentair App IntelliFlo VSF not letting me change pump settings

Using the app on my phone I bumped up my speed on the pump last night to do some aeration, as I'm trying to bring down my TA the last several days. So during the days I drop my pump speed down to 1300 rpm. I noticed when I opened the Pentair App this morning, the formatting was different on...

    Operation TA Commenced

SoDel, good question on fill water TA. I need to check that. I would think that with the really high CH in the faucet, it would be really high as well. I'll check it. I'm glad you mentioned that.

CYA test not able to read

Crud...thanks guys for this info. I guess I didn't read the directions well enough to catch the storage instructions. Maybe that is why I was struggling with the CYA test yesterday. I guess I need to buy some more CYA reagents. I wonder what else is jacked up in the kit.

    Operation TA Commenced

mknauss, am I fighting a loosing battle? :D I do run my aeration at night to get the cooling benefit as well, while I'm trying to get the TA down. I'm trying to come up with a plan to get the pool fill hooked up to the softened water. Might have to wait for cooler weather before I do that...

    Operation TA Commenced

Sunnydaze, I targeted 7.2 when adding acid mid-day. I made the aerator and installed it last night and checked pH and it was 7.2. I'll check this afternoon and see where I'm at. I bought 4 gallons of acid, I think I'll need some more. I added almost 2.5 qts yesterday to get to 7.2.

    Operation TA Commenced

TA is 110 and I started getting calcium snowflakes because my CH is 675. Dumped a couple qts of acid in yesterday and last night aerated. I made an aerator and might make one more to speed up the process and maybe use to cool the pool down certain days. So I've got a ways to go on the TA...

Pump Speed, Filter Pressures, Tiny Bubbles

I'll check and see how low of pump speed the SWG will allow. But I'm certainly enjoying the low wattage of running low speed. I'm running the SWG at 65%. I'm going to bump that up some to get the FC up. But I'm working on getting my CYA right and TA reduced now as well.

Re-routing softened house water to faucet (Any plumbers out there?)

To be honest, I haven't gotten up there in the attic to see how this faucet line is connected to the hard water. The hard water goes into wall, splits into outdoor faucets and then to water softener. Not knowing exactly what is going in the wall, that is why I was thinking it might be easier...

Pump Speed, Filter Pressures, Tiny Bubbles

So I've been running my pump at 1200 rpm, it's been working pretty well. Hardly registers pressure in the cartridge filter and skimming is still happening, much slower but it is working. THANKS for the advice. I didn't know that low of speed was an option. So my FC is down to around 2.5, what...

Re-routing softened house water to faucet (Any plumbers out there?)

Got it, that makes sense. But the faucet was connected to a line previously that was un-softened, correct? What did you do at that connection? Disconnect the faucet line and cap that off? Thanks again.

CYA test not able to read

Generessler brings up something I didn't think about. I leave test kit on the back porch in a cabinet. Never thought about the heat and the reagents being outside. Is this an issue?

Re-routing softened house water to faucet (Any plumbers out there?)

Thanks T-Splash. So what did you do with the original line going to the faucet or auto fill line. I haven't setup an autofill yet so my fill line is connected to my faucet and I manually turn it on when needed. So is your auto fill tied into your outdoor faucet? If so you would've had to...

Re-routing softened house water to faucet (Any plumbers out there?)

So my well water has a CH of 350 to 375, therefore my pool now has a CH of 675 after being in service since September. My pool fill is attached to my faucet, and my faucets are bypassed and don't go through my water softener. My plumbing is PEX and runs in the attic. I was contemplating...
