I can lift the low pad area up if I empty the filter. It is the back corner near the house that is the worse. So I can support it as I dig out. It's just going to how to permanently support it.

Thanks Texas Splash for confirming my thought process. TA is at 65, I'll get it down to 60 and maintain PH in the between 7.2-7.6. Now over time, that TA will eventually get too low and I'll need to add baking soda, right? I've only had to deal with high TA up until this point.

Thank tim5055. Where do I get these industrial phosphate removers that you speak of? I stay on top of my pool pretty well. I've been working a month or 2 to get the TA and CYA where they should be . Still have a bit to do on CYA. But TFP has been and awesome resource.

Crud...thanks guys for this info. I guess I didn't read the directions well enough to catch the storage instructions. Maybe that is why I was struggling with the CYA test yesterday. I guess I need to buy some more CYA reagents. I wonder what else is jacked up in the kit.

mknauss, am I fighting a loosing battle? :D I do run my aeration at night to get the cooling benefit as well, while I'm trying to get the TA down. I'm trying to come up with a plan to get the pool fill hooked up to the softened water. Might have to wait for cooler weather before I do that...

Sunnydaze, I targeted 7.2 when adding acid mid-day. I made the aerator and installed it last night and checked pH and it was 7.2. I'll check this afternoon and see where I'm at. I bought 4 gallons of acid, I think I'll need some more. I added almost 2.5 qts yesterday to get to 7.2.

TA is 110 and I started getting calcium snowflakes because my CH is 675. Dumped a couple qts of acid in yesterday and last night aerated. I made an aerator and might make one more to speed up the process and maybe use to cool the pool down certain days. So I've got a ways to go on the TA...

I'll check and see how low of pump speed the SWG will allow. But I'm certainly enjoying the low wattage of running low speed. I'm running the SWG at 65%. I'm going to bump that up some to get the FC up. But I'm working on getting my CYA right and TA reduced now as well.
