    Pentair EasyTouch surge board

Thanks. After replacing the LVO on the surge board and the RS485 chip on the easy touch main board everything is working again. <$15 repair

    Pentair EasyTouch surge board

From what I can tell, it must be underneath the display.

Thanks. Is there an RS-485 transiever somewhere on the easy touch main board?

    Pentair EasyTouch surge board

Already have a working solution. Working on the repair. In this case, the fuse is connected to nothing. Is the whole bottom half of the board sometimes not used? Perhaps when another part of the system generates the RS-485 signals?

21.5V to the top of F1 but nothing to the bottom. Blown fuse? Where is the actual fuse?

EasyTouch Surge board repair - IC40

It's this the newer board you referred to? It appears quite different as it has a pic24F microcontroller and its own RS485 transceiver.

    Pentair EasyTouch surge board

Helping a fellow forum member (remotely) look at his malfunctioning Easy Touch surge board. It inadvertently got 24 volts of AC sent through the RS485 from a connected peripheral. SWG is still getting DC power. There is 4.2v on the input and nothing on the output side of LVO (U3). I'm pretty...

Upgrade Pentair Easytouch 4 to 8?

Without a doubt, the subset of people who have pool automation and are willing to hack it is quite limited. Often what you will hear is I don't want to mess up expensive equipment. It just turns out that some really adventurous people help Pantair stuff I suppose. Adding in my raspberry Pi...

Alternative Pool Automation and Sensor/Chemical Control and Integration

I looked at the connector to my Intellichlor daughter board and the ground pin looks like it gets pretty toasty. I think I'll leave that power board alone. I found a spot for a DIN rail inside of my Easytouch box. I'll probably go the meanwell transformer route. I plan to power it with one...

Alternative Pool Automation and Sensor/Chemical Control and Integration

Questions moved to GitHub discussions @MyAZPool I saw a few years back you discussed using the intellichlor power center's 35-40VDC to power your peristaltic pump. It still seams to me that would be a simple way to grab 24VDC for the acid pump, using a cheap buck converter. Also it would...

Alternative Pool Automation and Sensor/Chemical Control and Integration

I figured out how to use "feeds" to backwards control the easy touch features. This is really cool! The lab grade pH sensor doesn't do temperature. Would I need a separate temp probe or can it be fed the temp from the existing probe in the pool equipment?

Alternative Pool Automation and Sensor/Chemical Control and Integration

Thanks for your reply. I'll stick to the Pentair solution. I can get it discounted locally so it's good to know that it works well. I got REM installed and integrated with the pool control dashboard. As I don't have any sensors or pumps I'm just playing virtually now. Is REM able to...

Alternative Pool Automation and Sensor/Chemical Control and Integration

It's a shame the IPS Complete Flow Cell doesn't come with 3/4" holes. All I really care about is pH at this point... Tired of manually adding Acid. I was leaning toward the Pentair intelliph tank and peristaltic pump combo, but now am interested in the EZO-PMP™ Embedded Dosing Pump. Is there...

How to perform firmware upgrade on Pentair* controllers

I tend to be of the opinion that if something isn't broken, don't mess with the firmware. That having been said, you can always downgrade to older firmwares if you don't like any features of the new ones.

How to perform firmware upgrade on Pentair* controllers

@Chenzo That's great. Good job! When I upgraded my wireless unit to 2.190 the voltage on the batteries of the controller were quite low. The flash stopped half-way through and just gave me a blank screen. I couldn't erase the chip, either. Fearing I had bricked it, I tried fresh batteries...

SOLVED: Easy Touch Remote 2.180 firmware issues

Just an FYI. Finally got a response from Pentair. It would appear that an EEPROM erase will affect both units if they are in communication: Thank you for contacting Pentair. Erasing EEPROM will delete programming from the outdoor control panel (OCP) if wireless remote is communicating with...

Exclude solar from higher pump speeds on Easy Touch

My Easy Touch 8 slightly ramps up the RPMs when the solar comes since I have a pump speed with the name SOLAR. If someone in my family chooses to turn on the Pool High mode (which accentuates the spa overflow) during the solar hours I'd like solar to turn OFF so as not to put the extra pressure...

Need help getting Pentair easytouch to increase pump speed when heat command is given

Is there a circuit name that EXLUDES Heater/Solar? My Easy Touch 8 slightly ramps up the RPMs when the solar comes on just as described in this thread. If someone in the family chooses to turn on the Pool High mode (which accentuates the spa overflow) during the solar hours I'd like solar to...

H2ot Sun Ballasted Flat Roof Solar Install

There is no harm in plumbing in several potential places for it. Like Dirk said, where isn't as important as how low you can run your pump without it sucking (and constant pool bubbling). You might end up moving it and plugging the original spot. Not that I am any expert... just my 2 cents

H2ot Sun Ballasted Flat Roof Solar Install

Mine is at the highest point on the panels, on the return side. But I plumbed in a tee in another spot on the supply side that has a pressure Guage in it for testing. You could just put a tee in both places and move the vacuum breaker to whichever one works best. My guess is you want it at...

    H2otsun Solar Powerstrips

$6.66 per square foot for the panels themselves including the headers. PVC pipe is through the roof right now... but not much to be done about that. Including laborers to get my trenches dug, valves and actuators for my pool equipment and paint it cost me $6400 for a 30'x15' ballasted system...
