Intellicenter Firmware Update - Chemistry Disappeared on my Phone App

I recently updated my Intellicenter firmware from 1.040 to 1.047 and then to 1.064. It's been awhile since I looked at my phone app, so timing may be a coincidence. Before the update, long before the update, I had this under Chemistry: Now my phone looks like this: My panel shows this...

    Pressure gauge on filter leaking

Where the gauge screws into the top of the filter, there's a small leak. It looks like clear silicone was used to seal and it maybe just needs to be resealed, not sure. Does this sound right?

Shed over pool equipment and ventilation

Naive question, can the pump run while it's covered with a tarp? Seems like we want to pump to continue running right?

Shed over pool equipment and ventilation

I like this a lot, no concerns about ventilation, takes care of UV rays. I'm a bit concerned about another frigid winter like we experienced in TX this past winter. We heard stories of equipment freezing and taking several months to replace. Maybe wrap the equipment in this scenario?

Shed over pool equipment and ventilation

Planning to put a shed like this over my pool equipment. For venting the 400,000 BTU gas heater, it looks like we need to do this: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/841887/Pentair-Mastertemp.html?page=21#manual https://www.manualslib.com/manual/841887/Pentair-Mastertemp.html?page=22#manual...

New pool, ready to add salt cell

We had a nice break in the heat recently, highs close to 90 instead of 100. My IC40 SWCG indicates low salt. I just tested using the Taylor K-1766 and got 2600 ppm. From previous trips to Leslie's it was closer to 3600 six weeks ago. Reading other posts on TFP, it seems salt readings can...

New pool, ready to add salt cell

When we first turned on the salt cell, at 35%, free chlorine was always low, e.g. < .6. We bumped it up to 50% and also Superchlorinated a couple of times (Friday night, Saturday) when we had friends over. Free chlorine was in range a couple of weeks ago and I turned down the salt cell to 45%...

    Black algae?

We used this salt. There's a lot of reflection in the original picture above. Around the drain, it looks sort of like graphite dust. The brush moves it around easily, so hoping it's something that fell into the pool and dissolved. We just put our Dolphin robot in the spa to see if that takes...

    Black algae?

We just noticed this today around the spa drain, it is black algae? Pool was filled 7/13, chemistry has been mostly good, had one green algae bloom about 10 days ago, slammed the pool and it went away in a couple of days. Added 400 lbs of salt a couple of days ago, haven't turned salt cell on...

New pool, ready to add salt cell

Can we swim during the first 24 hours while salt is dissolving? Thanks for the information and screenshot. Here's what mine looks like, same information.

New pool, ready to add salt cell

Thanks, Jim, much appreciated. I plan to buy 440 or maybe 480 lbs of salt, and test after 360 lbs, then 400 lbs, etc.. I'm guessing salt dissolves really fast. If test results look good can we swim soon after putting the initial salt in? Or should we wait awhile? Does the salt cell need to...

New pool, ready to add salt cell

Startup was 30 days ago. Chemistry has been good using weekly shock and muriatic acid. I think we're ready to add salt and install the salt cell. The salt cell is currently wired to our Pentair IC40 SCG control panel. Is it just a matter of putting the system in maintenance mode and swapping...

BYOP Austin TX - Pentair Pool Light Cord is Too Short

I failed to mention, BYOP (Build Your Own Pool) measured everything, created the design spec and recommended the equipment, as part of their consulting service. They also recommend all the subcontractors, who they know well. That's our beef, we paid them for design spec and ordered equipment...

BYOP Austin TX - Pentair Pool Light Cord is Too Short

Started a new BYOP outside of Austin, TX in October 2020. Excavation in November, plumbing in December, gunite had a schedule delay, January, the ice storm threw us off schedule. Everything after the storm has been very slow. We're finally ready for plaster, hopefully next two weeks. The...

New Pool in Central Texas - Equipment Review

I'm finding that upgrading from EasyTouch(R) 8SC-IC40 to IntelliCenter i8PSIC40 is about $750 extra. The sales rep said this would be more useful if I plan to add more water features and light features, because Intellicenter is expandable. We don't plan to do this, so most likely staying with...

New Pool in Central Texas - Equipment Review

Jim, We will likely go with the IntelliCenter i8PSIC40 kit from the link you shared. The kit comes with two actuators. Naive question, if we don't use an actuator for the 12" sheer or bubbler, how else would we turn those on/off? Thanks! Joey

New Pool in Central Texas - Equipment Review

Hi All, We plan to start excavation next week. We're reviewing the builder proposed equipment list below, while reading the very helpful threads here on TFP. Pool will be 34' x 17' rectangle with 9' x 7' spa on the side. Two 12" sheers and a bubbler on the sun ledge. SWCG and Dolphin robot...
