Just had SWG installed and have a couple of questions

Thank you for your quick and informative response. Looks like neither chemical will adversely affect my SWG then.

Just had SWG installed and have a couple of questions

I've always had a metal problem that Metal Magic will take care of most of the time for me. I usually have to treat the pool once a year or so, and I do a monthly maintenance according to the directions on the bottle. It has always worked great for me. With the addition of a new SWG (never...

Which model - and can I make it fit?

Would this do the trick for me? (Up and back down) https://www.discountsaltpool.com/circupool-edge-hayward-pentair-cell-adapter-kit

Which model - and can I make it fit?

@DeanP66 Having all those additional turns (at least 4) is okay for water flow? As for the model, it looks like the RJ-45, CORE-55 or the Edge 40 will be the correct size for me.

Which model - and can I make it fit?

Thank you for your quick reply - I'll head over to their website and post here what I think I'll need. Glad to learn I can make it work in that small space.

Which model - and can I make it fit?

Been a while since I've posted - the TFP method is so easy for me I haven't had to! I'd like to change to salt. Would the CircuPool RJ-30 PLUS or CORE-35 make sense for me? Or something else? (See my sig.) Also - with the 11" or 12" inch rule - I may not have the space. Please see my...

    Ferri-Tabs & Slime Bag Experiment & Review

The stains I described back then have not come back anywhere near as bad. They seem to begin to show every once in a while so I use Metal Magic regularly according to the instructions on the bottle and that controls it. It must be keeping what ever metal I have sequestered for me., Oh, and I'm...

    Ferri-Tabs & Slime Bag Experiment & Review

By the way, I add my chlorine about an hour before my filter shuts off in the evening. I run the filter from 8:00am to 7:00pm daily. My thinking is that my FC is at 6 all night and then drops slowly in the sun all day until I add more the next evening. My FC does not move over night, so it's...

    Ferri-Tabs & Slime Bag Experiment & Review

^^^ The stain started to come back once since my last post here so I dumped 20 oz. of ProTeam's Metal Magic in the pool and it went away over night. I've also put 3 Ferri-Tabs in the skimmer once a week since my last post. I'll continue to do that until the Tabs are gone. My water and liner...

    AA treatment - First timer

:hammer: Sorry - I shouldn't have assumed - hope I didn't cause any confusion. I know you know what it is, but to end any possible confusion on my part  , here's the 'tool' in the TF-100 to test PH:

    AA treatment - First timer

Your question tells me you probably don't have the TF-100 Test Kit available here: http://tftestkits.net/TF-100-Test-Kit-p4.html Best investment for the pool I've ever made, and highly recommended by most everyone here.

    AA treatment - First timer

A PH of 7.2 is good, and some say 7.1 is OK too. I have metal issues as well, so I try to never let my PH get above 7.2.

    AA treatment - First timer

I don't have a SWG - but all that does is chlorinate your pool. So, if I had one, I'd turn it on and slowly raise my chlorine level with it. And yes, keep your filter running until everything holds.

    AA treatment - First timer

Vitamin C is Ascorbic Acid (AA). Exactly the same. The best thing to do is keep your PH to the low range forever. Raise your chlorine level slowly (you'll be at it for a while depending on other factors such as sun, debris, temp etc.) Keep your chlorine level no higher than what is...

    Ferri-Tabs & Slime Bag Experiment & Review

Re: Ferri-Tabs Experiment & Review They would, but it does happen quickly. It's like I have a new liner at the moment, and it's only been about 4 hours. A video would have been better (about 30 seconds long) of the stain lifting.

Re: Ferri-Tabs Experiment & Review FC finally barely registering, so I've started the process. Today I: 1) Put the filter on recirculate 2) Added Ployquat 60 3) Added AA. The magic is happening with the stains as I'm typing this. Tomorrow (24 hours after the above) I'll: 4) Put the...

Re: Ferri-Tabs Experiment & Review FC at 1.5 this morning and counting..... We had about a 1/2 day of sun yesterday and then the skies opened up to give us over an inch of rain. Bunch of debris from nearby trees in the pool as a result. :hammer: I wouldn't have posted today except that...

Re: Ferri-Tabs Experiment & Review FC down to 2.5 & falling slowwwwwwly. You know full well if I wanted it to hold it would have fallen by 5 in one day! Shows you how well the BBB system works for me!! My PH is now at 7.2, so that's ready. Maybe Thursday?

    Ferri-Tabs & Slime Bag Experiment & Review

Re: Ferri-Tabs Experiment & Review My Slime Bag arrived yesterday. I attached it to my return about 15 hours ago, and this morning there was a little 'silt' in it and very little (about 10% of usual ) on my pool bottom. So it seems to be catching stuff. I've removed it for now because it...

cloudy milky water after ascorbic acid...HELP

There are others here with more experience than me, but....... The test results I posted were from the local pool store. I do have the DPD test kit but as I said I want to the local store for more accurate readings. A good test kit will give you far better results than you'll get at a pool...

    Ferri-Tabs & Slime Bag Experiment & Review

Re: Ferri-Tabs Experiment & Review I want to do an AA treatment first to lift the stains from off liner. I'm thinking that while the iron is in solution, these tablets will help to 'filter' it out.

Re: Ferri-Tabs Experiment & Review The Ferri-Tabs arrived yesterday - 2 day shipping - an unexpected surprise. I'm still waiting for my FC to drop to zero before I start the process. With the lousy weather here this week (no sun at all and a lot of rain) it's dropping very slowly. I suppose...

Re: Ferri-Tabs Experiment & Review Now I'm considering adding a Slime Bag to my experiment. Do you think it's over-kill? I would really like to get as much iron out of my water as I can. If I get one, my guess is the 18×30” with flow rates up to 60 gpm is the one for me. (...

Re: Ferri-Tabs Experiment & Review Good idea. I already have some I can use. I also have a couple jugs of Pro-Team Metal Magic left from last year. Current plan: 1) Take my Chlorine down to zero. 2) Put the filter on recirculate. 3) Add Polyquat 60 4) Add AA. 5) After 24 hours put the...
