    Broken jandy valve actuator

To be clear, in the pic above, I have the actuator off. Seems to be fine. But I didn’t want to leave the house for 12 hours and come home a catastrophic failure.

    Broken jandy valve actuator

All, I have a broken valve actuator. It’s been broken for a while, in the sense that one of my kids fell on it and broke the handle off of the top. However, more recently, it has failed in that it will only turn one way. It’s on a three way T and it turns 180 degrees on the T. Currently, it...

My new cell is reading 7100. Is it time to buy new reagents...

    IC40 Failure?

All, thanks in advance. I am on my 5th season with an IC40. Had to replace the flow switch 2 year ago. This spring, my salt readings (from the diagnostics) have been falsely high AND low, as compared to my drop based titrations. The red flow light has been on occasionally this past week. 3...

Odd creatures in my pool. Insect larvae?

All i wasn't sure if this is the right place to post, so please move if needed. Long story as short as possible. I have been away from my pool for vacation. The salt water generator was running while I was away. On June 28th, the pool was crystal clear. Business as usual. But I was away...

Best part of "Just Getting Started" is the first day in the pool. Dallas suburbs.

Re: Best part of "Just Getting Started" is the first day in the pool. Dallas suburbs. First spring with our pool too. Cover came off Monday. Fired up the heater today. Air temp 70 ish. Supposed to be 80 tomorrow and high 70's Monday (which is a local holiday). I have no idea what it is costing...

Anyone in the Northeast open yet?

Metro west Boston. Cover came off today. Water is 48F. Kids are excited. Before our mesh cover came off, you could see the screw heads on our main drain cover. Now, after brushing and running the Polaris it's pretty hazy. Hopefully it will clear in a day or so of running the filter, Polaris...

    Boston opening questions

It's my first year opening as well. We are just a town or two away from you in the western suburbs. We (actually our builder) are opening 4/10. My wife and kids are excited to have the spa open and I am tired of looking at the cover. We didn't close until early November and we also have a mesh...

    Cost of ledge removal

Surprisingly, the blasting was nearly silent. The stone was drilled and the the blast site was covered with heavy rubber mats made of used tractor trailer tires. Very little disturbance.

    Cost of ledge removal

Progress report. Coping installed. Landscape contractors have started working on grading and drainage. We still aren't sure what it going to look like when the stone is cleaned up and the plantings are in.

    Cost of ledge removal

Anyhow, we live in New England. Its granite, and we are building into the side of the hill. The ledge will end up being our retaining wall. To make a long story short, we had to blast to gain lateral space and then also the gain depth for the deep end. Finished depth will be just under 8...

    Cost of ledge removal

I am a long time lurker. Finally watering my gunite. Anyhow, I searched here, there and everywhere to try and ballpark the cost of ledge removal. I figured I should pay it forward.

Who's building it and how much?

Love the idea of this thread. I am just starting to interview landscape architects and pool builders in Eastern Massachusetts. This forum is amazing. John
